RyderE
So I just installed skse and updated Skyrim to 1.8 but now it crashes every time I try to start the game from the main menu.I'm completely new to this kind of stuff and have no idea what to do. I have tried googling around but haven't found anything useful. The weird thing is that the first time I started Skyrim after the update, it worked perfectly. So I quit and wanted to activate some mods. Now it's completely broken, even though I have turned all my mods off again. I use Nexus mod manager and have no idea how it all fits together. Could someone help me out please? I don't know what info is useful so just ask me if you want to know anything. Thx in advance.
bben46
SKSE rarely causes problems on its own. Usually when you suspect SKSE it is really a mod that uses SKSE. Without SKSE the mod did not start so didn't crash. Be sure you start EVERY time with the SKSE - as the Skyrim launcher doesn't start it.
Cait833
How did you install SKSE and how are you launching the game?
RyderE
I start the game via the .exe file i got from skse every time. Just before it crashes i get an error message saying something about script. I can't really read it. It's so fast before it crashes. I just downloaded skse and followed the step-by-step instruction to install it.
HeyYou
look for the skse, and skse_loader logs in your install directory. (where tesv hangs out.)<br>
RyderE
I couldn't find any :( What's it supposed to be called? And what kind of file is it? Text? I guess one option is to make a copy of the savefiles and just reinstall the whole shabang. Could that work?
