Join Alduin

If this would happen, I'd have a modgasm on the spot.

Only thing that would make this better if Alduin gave you a power to turn into a dragon as a reward after the altered questline is done.

Why ? Why not ? It would be awesome to let loose and just kill a village full of those pitiful mortals who would always treat you like a fool no matter what you did.

Archmage of the Collage, Harbinger of the Companions, Thane of *insert hold's name here* etc... ?

Pfh, you get a : ''Get out of my face, I have no business with you...''

Going along with jhncanson's comment; ''the dragonborn is a dragon in soul.... he's basically a dragon trapped within the body of a mortal''

Alduin doesn't need our help... but he's still classic arch-villain, which almost always have minions and lieutenants around to do what they consider menial tasks. Of course there would be a place for the Dragonborn with Alduin! I like your idea as much as I like the idea of being able to destroy the Thieves Guild. I'd also like this mod(?) to have Alduin share some bit of information that allows the Dovakiin to transform into a dragon...and then turn on Alduin and kill him anyway. Cliche', but I mean...evil characters aren't known for loyalty. I have no trouble killing him, just being forced to be the savior here when I'm a mass-murderer the rest of the game is absurd. It's like I'm playing a different game suddenly.

Think that would be a reasonable choice, as odaving pretty much stated that all alduin's lackeys secretly want to kill him and take over. Hopefully someone with the know how to undertake this comes along, it a really interesting concept.

Clear things up.. Alduin was not aware of the dragonborn.. he just wokeup from a coma.. what would you feel if someone puts you to sleep(or so) for al ong period of time?..

The first dragonborn was a dragon priest.. he betrayed his so called masters.. for he realized that they are of equal grounds and that he is far more superior. Remember.. a dragon born is someone who has the soul and the blood of a dragon.. which makes a dragonborn a dovah.. it is normal for predators to challenge each other.. i think thats why he betrayed them.. he wanted to know whos stronger.. him or his masters.. He was thirsty for power after absorbing dragon souls.. he felt his power ever growing.. and got drunk of it... Its common psychological sense.. but anyway.. i haven't actually played dragonborn as its not released yet and i havnt bothered to read along the history of the dragonobnr.. this is only my opinion.. so don't judge. 8)

Let's get this straight:

Alduin saves your life. You kill a dragon. He's angry. You kill more dragons. You get ZA DRAGON SCROLL.When you start getting close he realizes you'll be killing him.He goes to kill you.You call a ole traitor of Alduin(Paartunax) and beat Alduin up.Then you track him down in Sovngarde and use the invincible souls there to kill him.And you kill him.The sad truth, because you'll be killing the dude who saved your life.

He wanted to kill all mortals, he never wanted your help, he wanted your head laying on the ground which is why he attacked Helgen. You are not the good guy for killing him, you were not only saving the world, but you were his main target so you were saving your own ass. so no, by completing the main story it doesnt paint you as a saint.

"He wanted to kill all mortals, he never wanted your help, he wanted your head laying on the ground which is why he attacked Helgen."

Hmmm - I dunno about that. If he just wanted the Dragonborn's head on the ground - all he had to do at Helgen would have been - nothing. Just sit back and watch the show. The lapdog Imperials would have done all the work for him.

If he really wanted to save Ulrich (and not the Dragonborn) - then he just had to delay his arrival for thirty seconds. Remember, in the vanilla game start, you had your head on the block and it wouldn't have taken long to end the game before it really got started.

"Alduin saves your life."

Hmmm - is that really what it was? Alduin just showed up to save a complete no-body (which is what you were at that time) from getting his/her head chopped off?

I don't think he showed up to save the person who -later- turned out to be Dragonborn.

Rather (if some of the dialog with the Blades and other NPCs is correct) he was there to save Ulrich Stormcloak and prolong the Skyrim Civil War.

Less Aud, thal-more...Play a male Highelf, Join the Thalmor. There a mod for that. In fact there are 5! You get a cool voice type and a snazzy suit! Who can resist! You can even get a heavy armored robe and custom friendly faction! it changes gameplay! What a deal, mein gott!

Or...Play a Dreamoria Dramora lady-lord, looking to kiss her daedric prince!

Or dont join old Aud..be the next! Meet him to defeat him, and show your superiority as a Dov, side with the dragons and build a new world! After tearing down the old! Cleansed n fire!

Hell...Play an Argonian King Piccalo with a willy ''unlike DB Piccialo, he had no Diccalo! Instead play one bangs Agent Mai, and marries her, only throwing Emperor Pilaf off the zeppelin!
