  1. Upon installing the mod Actualize Apparel and entering your game, you can go to a forge, and craft a set of stylish archmage robes without that unsightly mentle. You have the option to get the enchanted version, a non-magical version, and ofcourse the original one with, or without it's enchantment, and many more interesting clothes and armors. I know it's not 100% the thing you've asked for, but I think this is as good as it gets. You could roleplay, and say you just removed the mentle. Do what you feel like. Have fun.
  2. I think the most we could get without actual voice acting and quest writing/scripting is this : There are all those mage dungeons out there, right ? Filled with ''dark mages'' who are always hostile towards the player. Well, make the people in one of those not hostile. Add a few vendors with stock lines all mages say when you trade with them ''Spells and incantations for those with the talent to cast them'' and there you have it. No need to overcomplicate it, right ?
  3. Sure, real ebony is wood, but not the TES ebony. It is said that all the ebony deposits came to be when the Red Mountain errupted. So it's some sort of metal, that formed at high pressure and temperature. Anyway, back to topic. It would be a pretty funny joke mod. On the other hand, if your character is a master enchanter, this flimsy looking ''armor'' could become as good as ebony. (considering you put the right kind of enchants on it, like fortify armor rating, reduce incoming dmg or resist magic) Eh, why not, I'll second this.
  4. That requires an animation mod to look like as it should. That's not all. Every concentration spell (spells you need to hold for some time to activate) will make you float when you have that animation mod installed. That's not optimal.
  5. The skeleton key was intended to be overpowered. I would even say that is wasn't as powerful as it was intended to be. Why ? Get this : As it's name suggests, it was supposed to be a ''key'' So if it was made as it was supposed to be, it would have been a key to open anything. No minigame, no nothing. The end result isn't as overpowered when you think about it now, right ?
  6. There's a mod I belive, with the name of ''The Freedom of Speech'' It relocates shouts that were in places that were only avaylable to players who were doing certain quests. Be avare though, it needs a new game, or you to not discover the places these locked shouts are at. Have a good day, and enjoy!
  7. This got off the handle pretty fast. I think my idea was pretty OP istelf even with the nerfs. Adding to that would make it a cheat mod, imho. Also, don't forget it : The more complicated a request gets, the less likely will it be to be completed.
  8. Oh, no no no, I'm not a modder. I was just brain-storming. Sorry if I got your hopes up.
  9. Crazy powerful enchantments on them as a side effect, but extremely hard to make. Say, you put magic resistance on it. It would be 50% stronger. But it would take black soul gems that are filled. Not a few either. You'd need enough to make the armor ''plates''. And then to pimp it all up, you'd need ebony and quicksilver ingots aswell. As I said, awesome boost to every enchantment you get on your armors, but it's really hard to make. Then for the light armor variant, maybe some precous gems, or rare hides. Something equally expensive as the heavy armor variant's ingredients. You like that ?
  10. A while ago, someone got this crazy conspiracy theory about the curiers. Man, they can find you anywhere! How do they do that ? The basic idea was, that the curiers are undercover psijic monks. Think about it. You literally just cleared a dungeon. You step outside, maybe visit the nearest city/village, and BAM, ''I've got something I'm supposed to deliver. Lets see here...'' I call hacks. lol ps. Just kidding. But it sure does make sence.
  11. I third it. It would be even more useful for users of the mod ''Royal Bloodline'' (the second to last new perk on the vamp lord perk three, is the abilty to fly)
  12. The mod Summon Ethereal Horse gives you a spell to uh, summon a horse. That's good and all, but what does that have to do with frostfall, you ask ? That horse walks on water. It only provides help for a part of your problem, and it's not what you've asked for, I know, but it's better than nothing, right ?
  13. I've played both sides, and the vampire side was more rewarding. I get it, evil blood suckers give you lots of stuff to sway you to their side, but you can't argue with the facts. You'll get a whole castle, immortality, and you'll be practicly filthy rich by the end of the DLC. What do you get from siding with the vampire hunters ? A few better crossbows (which are useless compared to bows, even then) a little pocket money, and a warm, fuzzy feeling in your heart that you did the right thing. I'm sorry, but that's just ridicoulus. So yeah, I understand your request. I also second it.
  14. It would be really fancy to have a floating book in front of you, when you cast spells, but it's not that easy to make animations. Simple mods get to be made more often. So what about this: When you have the grimore in one hand, and the spell you want to cast in the other, you get the power of a double handed casting, BUT with the magicka draw of a single handed casting. Powerful spells at half the cost ? I think that's good enough. What do you think ?
  15. I like the idea. Maybe adding a visual effect to it would make it even better. Remember the potion you find in Shroud Hearth Borrow in Ivarstead ? The one that makes you look like a ghost ? In additon, adding the the inability to attack and be attacked of the shout "Become Ethereal" should balance this spell out. Why ? It would be very easy to walk into walls when you're killing a dragon to avoid being injured.
  16. @meztostudious That's a good idea. I always thought necromancy in Skyrim was underpowered, compared to other schools of magic. @MerDryad That's not the way to ask for things if you want them to happen. Remember, modders do what they do in their free time, for free. A little politeness will get you a long way, but if you're rude, they'll just ignore you.
  17. When I said, I've found a way around it, I meant that you can't drop your armor, but at the same time, you can. Sure, what you put into storage is not your power armor, but all the components that make up said armor. Or maybe I'm just confusing dropping items (as in, on the floor) and storing them in some kind of storage, like a locker. So yeah. Derp. Hmm, the name seems a bit long to me. It was made for the military, so how about a nice boring acronym. PA-SYS MK I Idk, it sounds cooler than it's longer version.
  18. You know, some might say that's too harsh, but I agree. And now, after some thinking, I realized, the armor stand might not be the best idea. I don't even know if it's in FO:NV anyway, plus it's a big thing that would take up space in a player home, which some players can't afford, like some who use the mobile truck base and other mods like it. How about this. When you properly got out of your PA, the listed components become misc items (valuable pieces of junk. lol) You can store these wherever you want. To suit up again, you'll need the proper tool in your inventory, the knowlage you listed (good ideas by the way) and to be in a safe area. So essentially, you can't drop your power armor, I just found a way around it. (as said, when you don't wear it, it becomes pieces of tech-junk)
  19. I think a little restriction on where and when you can take your power armor off or put it on is okay, but not be able to drop it ? If you're not using it, it's just weight. Instead of a whole ''suit'' the power armor itself (not the helmet) should be a collection of parts when you're not wearing them. Arms, chestplate / torso, groin guard, leggings and power system (linked to the torso) Also, to weair or remove it, you'd need a tool, and possibly someone to help you with it. You should be able to do those in a safe area, such as a player home. When not worn, or in inventory, you'd need a power armor stand, so it's no longer a folded piece of metal, like it is when it's dropped. So yes, I agree, a mod like this would be welcome, with the few modifications, I mentioned, ofcourse.
  20. It's all well and good that you have a story going on. If you can't find someone to help you with it, it's just wasted words. Sorry. Might be better to get help, then tell them your story, and when (if) you have something that is finished, we'll get to know it anyways. You'll just spoil it for anyone who might be interested in it, and when they get their hands on the mod they have been waiting for, they'll be disappointed. They'll know the whole storty. And if the mod relies on story, not fancy new items, then it gets dry pretty quick if you allready know the whole thing.
  21. @theDemonJackal A little problem with that. Benny and the Khans who were with him, didn't come after the player because he/she was ratted out. It was because your character had the platinum chip. Benny found out who had that chip after going to Primm.
  22. Yeah, because being paralized by an enemy mage, while fighting a dragon is pretty awesome.
  23. Well Lonesome road only implies the Courier has been around a bit, quite possibly just on some courier work... It can be easily worked into a multitude of stories... What about players who install a child player mod ? He/she was not around when s*it went down in the Divide. The Supermutant player mod ? Who would trust a ''frankenstein'' to carry their goods ? One of the robot player mods ? Same thing. Or something entirely different. As I said, that's a pretty large workload for a mod, only a small percent of the players would enjoy. Still, I don't want to be a partypooper, so if someone does create a mod like this, have fun.
  24. That would be one though mod to create. You can't satisfy players with just one end to this kind of quest. It's about what the player thinks of his/her character, and with no original background, there can be pretty outlandish stories they made up. And let's not talk about Lonesome Road. That goes directly against my previous statment. In theory, it's a good idea, but when you think about it, it's pretty much impossible to make it work for everyone.
