Well there goes me ever getting a ps4, might go the way of steam though, heck we need a third party console to take over the market, plus they say its going to use Superior open gl 4.3, which is a direct competitor to directx 11

Not to be a dick, but if this happens, it could mean a renaissance in pc gaming. So, while still awful, there is at least a potential silver lining.

I agree with you on that one, steam console might lead the way for pc gaming in general, may even make opengl 4.3 a standard, and give a linux a shot at the gaming market for a change, Open gl is open source and compatible with all directx 11 capable and none capable gpu chips and cards alike.

i mean, without a Console, i will basically only be playing PC so yea. plus PC games are usually cheaper, and with Steam, are often times on Sale. so it wouldnt be soo bad if i didnt have a PS4. that said, i do want one. i love my console gaming. so i hope this isnt true. though its been a rumor thats been going around for awhile now, with the xbox 720 as well, not just Sony.

I'm not sure there's a need to do it, they already have the means to block second hand games if they want, all that's required is a key that ties it to your PSN account in the same way DVD based Steam games work. Those of us who bought New Vegas and Skyrim on DVD can't sell the game on, it's worthless because the key has been used. Using it on movies is a non starter because that would require other hardware manufactures to play ball and that's very unlikely, the more I think about it the less sense the whole thing makes.
