Noswald95
So i've been working on an armor mashup and it's mostly done, the textures fits and the geck can run it. Just need to tweak the specular map to give it some more personality. Then there's fixing the hollow space /"tucking in" the shirt and belt mesh plus i need to fix the pants mesh from clipping out of the boots. I've been using blender like Jokerine's guide, i've tried to follow the import and export specifications but my version of blender doesn't have the wide selection of settings like the guide does. and when i try to open the exported file on nifskope i get an error saying that version (0,0) isn't supported. what does that even mean? What i have vs what jokerine's guide and subsequent error messages plus my block list= https://imgur.com/a/DRbjTX6 I know the mesh is passable at this stage but i crave perfection. M48A5
From your screen captures it appears you are trying to import a .blend file, not a ,nif file. As far as i know, you open a .blend and export it as a .nif. I have never used a .blend file. I have always imported and exported my work as a .nif file. I don't think nifskope can read a .blend file. Edited June 9, 2020 by M48A5
madmongo
Make sure that you are using version 2.49b of Blender with all of the nif tools. You can download the complete package here, with all of the proper tools, all with versions that work properly with each other.https://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/12248/? AusAllerWelt
You are using a newer version of blender. It is technically possible to use a newer version to work on meshes for New Vegas but it is always recommended to use Blender 2.49.You can download a portable version of 2.49 with all scripts and prerequisites that you need. You can simply save your current mesh you worked on in the new version as a blend file and make it backwards compatible and open it up in 2.49 and export it from there. Whoops, madmongo beat me to it! I still recommend downloading the portable version because it is patched so that vertex normals won't be regenerated when going into edit mode, which is one of the reasons why a neck seam is produced. I'm importing a nif file to blender then i altered it, saving it as a blend to save to my work on it, exporting it as a nif. AusAllerWelt
You shouldn't have to. I use the version I linked myself and still have 2.79 installed seperately without issues.
Noswald95
well 2.79's UI was a nightmare to navigate, BUT IT WORKED the outfit is good and tucked in now. Thanks madmongo and AusAllerWelt
