YouDoNotKnowMyName
Good evening everybody! I recently have been working on some worldspace stuff, specifically creating custom worldspaces from a heightmap with a tool called TESAnnwyn.Of course, I ran into some problems with that and asked here about it.During that discussion, somebody mentioned, that the "worldspace landscape data stuff" (the actual landscape in a worldspace) of a ESP file is the same in Skyrim as it is in Fallout 4 (they use the same "game system", so that makes sense ...). This gave me an idea .... Would it be possible to "copy" the "worldspace landscape data stuff" from Skyrim into Fallout 4 with something like xEdit? So that in the end I have a ESP or ESM (for Fallout 4) that has all of the Skyrim worldspaces (exteriors) in it. The reason why I want to do this:I want to "port" Skyrim to Fallout 4 (just for personal use only, of course. And mainly just the worldspaces, so not the quests and all of that ...). The conversion of all of the assets (statics, doors, containers, ...) will be easy, but the whole "landscape" thing is what really "scares" me right now ... [This will probably be one of those "I really really want to do this, but the FO4 with its endless limitations will not let me do it" - things that seem to happen to me almost everytime I want to do something awsome ...It almost seems like FO4 does support modding, but it does not support "awsome stuff"]
DiodeLadder
Hello there, Since that TESAnnwyn software can export a height map image file based on Skyrim asset, I suppose you can import that image file as a height map into FO4 CK. CK will tell you exactly what resolution image you need for the size of worldspace, so you might want to get that info first and match the image size. Importing height map to a worldspace in Creation Kit works just fine. Here are some shots from a result of height map import feature in FO4 CK : I think this worldspace was 48 x 48 cells or so (it was more than a year ago, so I don't remember the exact size), based on a height map image of a national park in Vermont. In this experiment, I've never experienced the weird issues you've been posting about. As for getting this process done outside of FO4 CK, I don't know how. Good luck.
YouDoNotKnowMyName
Thanks for the quick answer, but I think there is a communication-problem here (I probably didn#t explain clearly enough what I am trying to do) ... Importing a heightmap is NOT what I want to do here! What I want to do is this: "Copy" the worldspace landscape data from a Skyrim worldspace (with xEdit) to a FO4 worldspace.(So basically "port" a Skyrim worldspace to FO4.) YouDoNotKnowMyName
To clarify, this is what I want to do: Just selecting what I want and hitting CTRL C and then CTRL V doesn't work (would have been too easy ...)
