No kills

How would you go about setting a character to beat the game without killing anyone?

I'm thinking...

High speech (to diffuse situations without fighting)

High sneak (to not be seen)

High small guns (to dart gun legs)

High unarmed (to paralyzing palm behemoths)

Any other ideas?

High endurance so you can take hits if you want to be able to run, high agility if you need to use vats in a non lethal manner, raise int to 9 or 10 as well as charisma, obtain child at heart and lady killer//black widow speech perks. High strength so you can carry your own things if you don't want to bring a follower to kill for you (Seems like cheating)

(Edit addon)

You may want to work on Lockpick and Science since you probably won't be making as much money without the whole killing part (Making bribing, ect harder)

This makes me remember how you could KO people with hand to hand in Morrowind. Then when they were on the floor you could beat them until they died.. Oh the days..

*Ahem*Make a mod like what I just described above, and then you can fight - but you don't have to kill anything.

I'd suggest taking small arms out. You won't be needing money (no need for ammo or weapons), so I'd leave barter for later. What you'd want to do is level fast, and since you can't kill, you gotta pick locks and break into terminals. I'd go with:

Sneak

Unarmed

Lockpick

Science

Speech

Medicine

With sufficient stimpacks, theoretically you can be invincible and just run through stuff. Your armor should be good enough too. And if you're not going to kill anything, I don't see why you would go behemoth-hunting.

I used to KO ppl in the water all the time in Morrowind... making them drown.

I think you could probably go most of the way through the game and most of the side quests without killing anyone. But at the end don't you

have to kill Col. Autumn and those other two enclave guys?

Those would be the only kills I could think of that you HAVE to have.

Oh and the Grayditch quest has you kill some ants regardless doesn't it? But that one is optional.

I think a large part of this would be whether or not you consider it okay to have allies that kill your enemies for you. AKA the never fire a bullet yourself method. Going that route, I could easily see someone being able to make it. However, if you simply want to not have any blood on your hands at all, I'm unsure if such a thing is possible.

with good enough speech skill, you can talk Col. Autumn into giving up, and then you can let him go along with his guards.

so, unlike Oblivion, it is possible, at least for the main quest.

This was a fun route in Fallout 2 (though you couldn't do every side quest, for sure) but I don't know that it was actually possible - I certainly didn't succeed.

It should be possible here, so long as you allow, e.g.,

the BoS to kill the mutants (and bohemoth) at GNR.

. I'd change FriendlyGhoul's list to:

Sneak

Speech

Lockpick

Science

Repair

Medicine

The dart gun will certainly kill (get a critical and the poison will finish them) so I think that is out. Paralyzing Palm comes so late and is so iffy that I don't think you should count on it.

I'd say you would need to stock up on Stealthboys to pull this off, but it is worth trying. I think you need to be a thief, though, to get the caps to buy the armor you would need (especially for repairs, 'cause you are gonna take grief). I am trying to think of how I would deal with a deathclaw, though. Nothing comes to mind, as they are both faster than you and armor-piercing, so you are gonna get ripped to death unless you kill them.
