Liara7LF
I imagine this one has been posted before but seemingly at random during play my game will freeze for ~1-2 seconds, go to a black screen, also for ~1-2 seconds and then return to the game but with a vastly reduced frame rate - the FPS appears to be about 5 (at a guess). The frame rate deaths happen randomly, i originally thought it was due to large amounts of NPCs in an area but this occurred the other day when I was stood still in an area with 2 NPCs. Note: I have ENB running and am using a GTX 660 OC, Phenom II x4 955BE & 8Gb RAM
Georgiegril
Have you updated to the latest drivers? I noticed when I read the 310.90 release notes that the new drivers are supposed to fix lagging with ENB in Skyrim. (make sure to do a clean, manual, install--using Windows driver update will result in corrupted installation--also in the release notes.) Sounds like you have more than a lag, though--to me it seems like your GPU is crashing, then recovering, but maybe not completely. There are a few other possibilities that are mentioned ion the known issues--I don't remember them all, but I would definitely recommend reading it completely. One other thing I remember is that the 310 drivers can sometimes improperly set the value for SLI, which might cause you problems. After installing, I always open up NVidia inspector and make sure my settings are where I want them. Are your graphics factory overclocked, or manually? If manually, have you rechecked the values? Tried with lower game settings and without ENB? Have you checked your temps in game? Also, have you checked to make sure your computers power supply is being maintained steadily while you are playingHave you blown out the dust in your computer recently? Well, those are my ideas, hope something there helps!
Liara7LF
Thanks for the reply :) I realized I have missed a detail. Where you said about GPU crashing and recovering but not completely, I forgot to mention that after leaving it for a few minutes (this time length also a random factor) on the start menu or inventory it will recover completely. Occasionally it will recover after pressing start and then exiting, other times it will take ages. Also saving the game and reloading without exiting will work. Factory OC though I did tinker with it, I will restore to default and report back ;)GPU temp is nice n cool and my 955 isn't particularly high either. No dust as it is a new build :)My PSU appears to be providing adequate power but how would I test this as you say? I must say that 99.9999% of my game is not affected by this issue. It happens and I can be back playing my game normally in around 2 minutes (thats if i need to restart skyrim) so this issue isn't exactly major or game breaking, just annoying :) Anyway thank you for your suggestions, if I find a cure I will post it here and let you know, if not I shall keep searching.
