MPBunny
I came back to Skyrim after a while and attempted to use the Special Edition. Of course that means that I need the mods for it, so I downloaded a bunch. Most of them were ones I was familiar with from Oldrim, but some were new. When I first ran the game, I ran into a problem that I'd get two textbox popups, seen here: I'd normally write this off, except that any save files I make are corrupted and unusable even on a brand new game. I've already gone through with LOOT and FallrimTools and can't find any errors or problem scripts. I remember a way for there to be logs of the steps that the game goes through, enabling you to spot errors, but I can't figure out what it is. Just enabling the option in the ini doesn't seem to do anything. Anyone else have this problem, or barring that know a way to figure out what mods are causing the above popup messages? I've got a feeling they're the problem.
MPBunny
Well, it looks like it's the fault of Legacy of the Dragonborn. Because of course it is. Disabling that, the patches, and related esps lets the error messages have text. The messages were for Master of Disguise. Now it's just a matter of figuring out where LotD is conflicting.EDIT: Apparently it's just an issue of too many mods. This has the solution: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/17230
rmm200
With these kinds of errors, we can't be much help. You will find more specific support on the Skyrim SE support forums. Now if you have problems with the mod installation process - come back. Those we can handle.
Pickysaurus
There is literally not reason why Legacy of the Dragonborn should cause that (I wrote a lot of the code for that mod).
MPBunny
Sorry, should have been more clear. Apparently it's an issue that Skyrim has when loading too many mods, LotD just pushes it over the edge of that limit. There's supposed to be a solution here: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/17230 but I'm having trouble making it work.
rmm200
That got my curiosity going. How many mods do you have? Most folks just starting with mods pick a few and see how it goes. Get used to the manager, etc. Only the real masochistic start with over 100. I have been doing this since 2012, and I run about 120 mods. The hard limit for plugins not ESM is 255. The high byte of the mod load order runs 00 to FF.
Pickysaurus
If you have over 255 ESP/ESMs I could see this happening. But with the inclusion of light plugins I'm not sure how you'd hit the limit.
MPBunny
Yeah, I had more than that. I managed to solve the issue using the mod I linked.
