Damarus117
Hi all, I'm relatively new to Fallout modding, I want to use the elevator like in the Washington Monument.. but I haven't got a clue on how to get it to work. It's been bugging me for quite some time now, so i thought, maybe anyone else knows how to do it. Basically, what i want is a duplicate of the interior of the washington monument elevator etc, but without the zone-change at the top of it. I just can't get it to work  Do you guys still get what i mean ? p.s. Sorry for my bad english, I'm from the Netherlands so my spelling/grammar might be off. SpeedyB64
As far as I know elevators are animated objects. The monument elevator is a bit of a one time use sort of thing made specifically for that situation. The only way I know to make an elevator is to maybe open the model in nifskope and edit the animation. The teleport at the top of the monument I think is caused by a activator box that you pass through. BTW I plan to make an elevator set at some point in the near future but it still might be a while. MythicDawnAssassin
I'm makeing some sort of modders resource that will create a convincing real-life elevator. It will be based on GetPos-SetPos functions. Will take a few weeks and might come in handy. P.S. You're from the Netherlands too? [Dutch] Jammer dat je alleen Engels mag spreken op deze Forum! nfckitten
I think I read somewhere that it's not the elevator that moves but everything around it... or something like that... movement seems to be a problem in Fallout 3... Jump onto the walkway to Rivet City when it's moving and you will notice that it's very jumpy and stuff... also, a house that uses elevators is the one in my signature and it suffers from basically the same problem... it's very jumpy and glitchy... but I think that's the engine... But that is my opinion...

vereena
Hello guys, In case if you are still interested in elevators. It's been 20 days since last post, but there is still no answer here. Entire bottom part is a normal cell, that never moves anywhere and elevator box with player inside stays still at all times, it is shaft that plays animation "Forward" (in case of monument elevator) once shaft animation stops playing (you are on the "top" of the monument) game loads another cell whitch is monumetn top (notice that, door on top are not opening. If they would open you would still see bottom part). Now, when you are going down the monument, cell with the shaft loads and plays animation "backward" to make it look like you are going down, after it stops, door slides open and there you are, back at the bottom where in fact you've been all the time .I hope this make sence to you, cheers
