Can't modify dragon bone/scale weight?

Ok... I'm pulling out my hair on this one.

I have two different mods. One of those mods is pretty big and includes adjusting the weight of dragon bone and scales. After a fresh install, I load up and start playing. After killing the first dragon, I noticed that the weight was still the default. I began to try a few things. I stopped using the Bashed Patch and still the same. I move the mod dead last. I moved the mod all the way to the top. Nothing....

Well... I went to the workshop and subscribed to a mod that specifically changes the weight to zero. I activated and nothing. I moved it all around in the load. Nothing.... Something is blocking the dragon scales and bones from allowing the weight to change.

I went into TES5Edit. The last time I changed something I ruined my game so I only look and search. I have no mods that have any reference to the weight except the Skyrim.esm and the two mods listed above. The reason why it's bothering me so much is it was all working just fine before the fresh install. To add, the fresh install included installing Skyrim to it's own hard drive (could be important).

It doesn't seem to be a load order thing. I checked the mods in the CK and the correct items are referenced and changed. I'm lost..... What could basically block something so minor? >.<

Is there something I can check? /cry

Thanks!

Well, check that the mods are active in your game by pulling up the console (the key to the left of 1, usually ~ but for me `) and typing "help <somethingoneofthemodsadds>" without quotes. If the console comes up with that item, then the mod is working and you have a glitch. If not, the mod isn't active, so check in Data Files in the Skyrim Launcher to make absolutely sure the mod is checked.

If you're still having problems, go to the mod page on Nexus/Steam Workshop and check to see if the mod requires DLC or another mod. If all else fails, comment on the mod or PM the modder.

Note: If you'd like to check if there really is some bizarre problem specific to dragon bones, open the CK, load only Skyrim.esm and Update.esm and make an .esp that changes the weight of dragon bones and one other object (say, an iron sword). Name it something and make sure it's loaded in the Launcher. Use the mystical power of the console to give yourself both items (help dragon bones/help iron sword, then player.additem (ID) 1) and see if they have the weight you added.

Good luck!

Thanks for the reply! Been playing around with mods to just find out which mod is locking it. I figured it out after SEVERAL deactivate/load a game/check and rinse and repeat. It's Deadly Dragons. What's weird is it was fine before. Something else to add to the weirdness. I figured I would just open up DD in the CK and make to two tiny changes there. Easy fix, right? Wrong. Even changing the weight in the mod that blocks it doesn't do anything. As long as it is active, it's locked to default values.

I hate to ask the author, but maybe he can give some insight. All modders deserve some respect for their time and effort, and I feel bad if I have to ask for their help. Those guys get hammered more than than they get thank yous.
