AnimeOtaku102
I can already forsee this becoming the next 'Imperial V Stormcloak' thread. I don't mind, I enjoy the debate.Well, let me start that off: Stormcloaks are far better dressed for the weather than Imperial soldiers.
Kraeten
Well, let me start that off: Stormcloaks are far better dressed for the weather than Imperial soldiers. While that's certainly true, there's also a suspicious lack of pants in general among Skyrim's armors. Leather, Hide, Studded, Scaled, Stormcloak commander/captain armor all lack pants. It's almost as if there's someone running around stealing clothes... o_O Edited January 20, 2013 by Kraeten

Well I imagine you'd have to, to debate as often and extensively as you do. Can't say I have the patience and tolerance for it myself, though I somehow keep forgetting that fact when I involve myself. Yeah, its sort of sad isn't it. Relativelybest
I see it as a roleplaying thing, really. My primary character is kinda, well, flighty - she does whatever she feels like at the moment. So she started off joining the Stormcloaks because, hey, the Empire tried to cut her head off. But than she cooled off a bit and decided that the Empire was probably better for Skyrim in the long run, plus she plain didn't like Ulfric, so she switched sides by giving the Jagged Crown to Tulius. She has some sympathy for the Talos worshippers but since she primarily worships Akatosh, she doesn't consider it her problem to solve. And at any rate, she always considered Alduin to be the real problem. On the other hand, I have an archer character who is a passionate Talos worshipper and thus much more likely to support the Stormcloaks. She's not particularly going to care who is Jarl over which hold - and, really, why should she? She doesn't know anything about politics in the first place. Then I have several characters who are neutral, like my barbarian catgirl who doesn't consider herself a part of human society and just wants to adventure around, or my mage who doesn't care either way as long as they keep the war out of Winterhold. Kraeten
Yeah, its sort of sad isn't it. In my case? Yeah. I've gotten better at letting go of a debate though, so it's not all bad.
Tidus44
Being captured and sentenced to death for no reason other than being in the wrong place at the wrong time did have me somewhat anti-Imperial and pro-Stormcloak the first time I played through Skyrim. I too escaped with Ralof and killed Imperial Legionnaires and thinking that when the time came I would be joining the Stormcloaks to free Skyrim from the yoke of Imperial/Thalmor oppression. But then I read "The Bear of Markarth", visited Windhelm and Markarth and completed the Diplomatic Immunity quest amongst other things. I am not convinced the xenophobic Stormcloaks are the best thing for Skyrim or for Tamriel. Can someone make an error in judgement and learn later that they may not have made the right choice? Sort of makes the game a bit more "realistic" as life is about choices and we don't always have all the facts and sometimes make decisions on emotions. It isn't specifically hard to reconcile. You pay the fine or do the time (if you have gotten a bounty for killing a Legion soldier), don't kill any more Legion soldiers and join the Legion side when the time comes and fight hard for the Empire. It's OK to feel bad for killing some Imperials, anyone can make a mistake.

A fair examination. It coincides with my argument that the Empire is collapsing at an alarming rate. And to help with your English: 'Agenst' is 'Against'.
