Knightofthe7shades
One of my save games crashes whenever i try to save again; normal save, quicksave, even autosaving. I can go to a previous save of the SAME character yet it still crashes next time i save. I open Oblivion again, and the save files that were made while I crashed are actually there; however, If I try to load them, it says the file is corrupt... I can play a DIFFERENT character however, and i can save with no problems. Please, let me know of any possible solutions that will preserve my character that I cannot save with, if it is possible. Also, I usually save by pausing and then saving via the menu. Are there any better precautions I should take instead of saving like I do now? I have done a bit of research, and I saw something about saving via console being healthier for the game, so I may try that. Thanks in advance for the help! :D
Hickory
First, clear out (back up first) your saves folder, then copy the one save back to the cleaned out folder. Now try loading and then saving in a clean slot. If that still crashes, you will have to supply details of any mods, particularly (but not limited to) OBSE mods, that have been installed OR uninstalled since the problem save game was made. Knightofthe7shades
Damn, it didn't work... I have an endless list of mods XD mainly enhancements (that has never given me issues) I installed long ago and armor/clothing sets. Here, however, is a list of the quest mods I have:Anduril Reforged (OBSE)Blade of the Haunted (OBSE)Elswyer AnequinaAranmathi (house mod with large quest. OBSE no COBL)Knights of the Nine: Revelation (OBSE)Aetheric Cuteblade (OBSE)The Lost Spires (installed a few days ago, haven't seen issues that I know of yet; OBSE)Dibella's Watch (installed today; OBSE)The Hole (however, i uninstalled it today) These are all the quest mods I have. My main enhancements are All Natural, Varied Spell Sounds (recently installed, which is why I am including this), and QTP3. I do NOT have OBGE. Dibella's Watch may be the cause, however, I made a stupid mistake earlier today installing (another XD) armor mod, forgetting to close down my game. I imported the files, however, I didn't activated the esp file while my game was open. Even so, I would not imagine having this outcome from this kind of mistake. My memory may be mixing things up, but i believe the problem occurred just prior to me installing this mod. Again, I could be wrong.

The game is constantly aware of some things resource-wise, and woefully unaware of others, and you crossed the line. Oops! Game over!
Knightofthe7shades
Wait, Dibella's Watch's resources is the problem? or the armor, being interpreted as a resource? While both seem like the most logical problem, I don't understand how that would only affect one character, instead of every character. Either way, I know you know what you're talking about, so it doesn't change the fact T___T Well, hey, thanks for the help! I would've been at this for days trying to find an impossible solution XD Edited January 20, 2013 by Knightofthe7shades
Lanceor
If you have it, try dropping the Fort Grief Door Key from your inventory before saving. (It's no longer needed for anything after you've completed the relevant quest.)
