Oblivion Sudden Fps drop now

I have been searching and trying different things for about 4 hours in the past two days each to help with my sudden fps drops now, what I mean is...

 

Less than a week ago I could walk outside town and be fine enough to enjoy myself. After installing a few mods I find that I can barely move now. With all my mods de-activated it is fine again, and I am still trying to figure out which one is causing it (by disabling everything and re-enabling a few at a time and fully logging in each time.).

 

I've tried the Tweak Guide for my operating system already.

 

If anyone is familiar with anything that I probably haven't tried please let me know.

1) I want to apologize for this post because of how hard it will be for someone to read this and understand how to help. I gave you my full load order but did not take time to label the ones I ALREADY disabled. Since I have a ton of Crowded / Realistic Population / Better Looking mods...

 

2) After disabling the Better Looking mods I have greatly increased results but still going down the mod lines. I never realized a new race / texture for some npcs and myself could reduce my FPS by 10-15.

That's the power of the 'one mod at a time' method of installing (except where a mod's requirements dictate more than one). If you test thoroughly between installs it makes troubleshooting issues trivial. Also keep in mind that disabling a mod doesn't necessarily stop it from affecting the game. Uninstalling a mod is the only way to be sure that traces of the mod aren't gumming up the works (which would include reversing any Oblivion.ini edits a mod may have done).

I may have missed them, but do you have the unofficial patches installed? I didn't see any of them.

I had a lot of luck with using streamline as well. http://oblivion.nexu....com/mods/10400 The readmes for the tool tell you a lot about how to tweak it. I got the biggest increase from following Jaga's directions for the fog settings and extreme clipping. I use Oblivion stutter remover for managing fps and changing the heap from the default vanilla one. http://oblivion.nexu....com/mods/23208

It might help to know what the mods you installed immediately before the slow down are.

 

Some mods leave stuff behind even after being uninstalled. Some overwrite or change stuff in mods that were previously installed. Uninstalling doesn't always get everything - a lot depends on how the mod was installed/uninstalled. If it was installed by the original 'drop this in the data folder' then you have to go through the files to see what it installed and where. If you used the 'drop into data folder' to install, then using OBMM, Wrye Bash, or NMM to uninstall will not completely uninstall. You need to use the same method to uninstall that was used to install.

 

Wrye Bash and OBMM do try to isolate mods to make them easier to uninstall. Wrye Bash seems to do a better job of this than OBMM.

Thank all three of you for your comments. I find that now that I install one mod at a time and know exactly what they do I never have this problem anymore. The issue was just two mods "Better Redguards" "Better Dark Elves".
