Foulfrost
Hello Forum I've been using mods for ES for a long time - heavy modding since Morrowind - so I know which ones to get and which ones not to get. However, this little pickle, I don't know how to fix on my own. I hadn't played for a month or two and decided to update my mods. In order to do that, the mods told me to update SKSE to the latest version. Easy enough, I got it here -> http://skse.silverlock.org/I copied its files over existing files, in the scripts folder, source folder and the general Skyrim install folder. Then let NMM - I love you NMM - do the rest.I did have to manually remove some files to update Skyrim UI 3 - these files were named BarterMenu, MagicMenu and so forth. I kept them in my recycle bin. The game works, the mods work, it's all good and rainbows. But I have an unwanted visitor in my game. The $-symbol. It's practically everywhere, on the main menu in front of every word, ingame in front of the words on the menu, in the character screen, in front of health, stamina and magicka, and in a good number of other places.Thankfully it hasn't worked its way into the gameplay itself but it's still odd and very annoying. I have mild OCD so seeing that symbol everywhere it doesn't belong gives me the creepers. I know the symbol $ has a a purpose in Excel so I thought maybe a computer whiz or some kind soul might know how to evict this unwanted guest from my game. :) Any advice is most appreciated, and hopefully, its stay will be brief. Kindest regards FF
Rabbit1251
Try Verifying your game cache through Steam. That should fix it. Rabbit
steve40
@Foulfrost: maybe you should read the SkyUI documentation. Just sayin'. :whistling:
Foulfrost
@Foulfrost: maybe you should read the SkyUI documentation. Just sayin'. :whistling: Good tip but I don't really understand any of the documentation. It says that older files have to be fully removed. I'm pretty sure I did. I looked in the Skyrim UI 3 Zip and removed all the equivalent files manually from my game directory, then replaced them with the Skyrim UI3 files Unless the previous version had some sort of file the 3'd version doesn't have, I don't know what I can do to fix it. Remove surplus files? Which ones? I use NMM for mods now but I didn't always, some mods in installed manually, and I forgot what files they held. Could you explain perhaps what issues might be? :P
