The X-files S01EP01: "the Whiterun CTD"

Hi friends, im ramón from spain, i apologize for my por english.

 

well ill try to give all the info i have to everyone can help me.

 

the problem is:

 

when i arrive to Whiterun, i got a CTD with no warning message

 

im pretty sure that the problem is not Whiterun itself, but its the first complex cell i arrive after game start, so maybe is another issue.

 

ive noted that when i arrive to 2300 kb of vram, game goes to a CTD, i have no problems before, as i told, in Riverwood, i never reach the 2300kb limit.

 

still im not sure the problem was Whiterun, or the Vram, only writing my toughts.

 

well going to describe my computer:

 

Operating System: Windows 8 Enterprise x64

I would suggest starting over just with Skyre, exactly according to the author's instructions, then slowly adding 1 or 2 more, running boss and playing.

You might be running out of VRAM, but looking at your mods list, I'd put my money on a mod conflict. If I had money, which I don't.

 

PS a lot of people wont download attached documents; you might have bettter luck including them in text as a spoiler. The BOSS log has a txt file option which makes this easy.

What Georgiegril suggested is a great place to start diagnosis, as it will help narrow down potential causes (and for CTDs generally, there are many potentials ... that and your immediate CTD cause may not necessarily be the proximate cause). Also, remember that your RAM (and associated utilization) isn't the same as VRAM ... If you really are getting a VRAM issue, as Georgiegril mentioned, you could very well be running out of VRAM (of which you mentioned having 1GB, not 8GB) *OR* you could have one or more invalid/messed up textures. Having you tried a console "PCB" (purge cell buffer)? While this won't solve issues relating to invalid textures, if there's a memory issue, this would clear out other cells you may have cached.
