screendrop
Talos, according to both lore and in game functional references which are inferred by in game buffs (10% shout reduction by the Talos Amulet) rose to take a mantle in the Pantheon of the Nine Divines to assume the place as a Ninth Divine. These events of Divine rising occurred after conquering all of Cyrodiil and culminating in the assimilation of all Nations and Provinces of Tamriel and the Birth of the Third Empire and founded a blood line that would give lineage to the Emperors that would rule for the whole Third Era. These events were deemed worthy of the ascendancy to the status of Divine. Now, this is the issue i'm having with the lore. The 8 Pre-Talos Divines are Akatosh, Arkay, Dibella, Julianos, Kynareth, Mara, Stendarr and Zenithar. These 8 Divines are more or less commonly known as Aedra or Et-Ada which is loosely translated as "Our Fathers". The reason behind this is that when the concept for Mundus was conceived during the Dawn Era by Lorkhan and designed by Magnus, several (8) of the ruling Aedra at that point chose to give themselves fully to the creation of Mundus and therefore gave birth in time to common Mundus concepts. The 8 Aedra became the 8 celestial bodies of Mundus. Any Et-Ada choosing not to become involved in the creation became known as Daedra. Inversely, Talos, or Tiber Septim, achieved fame by means of Human achievements. These actions are only large and grand on a human scale and are almost inconsquential in relation to the Creation of Another Realm. My question is this. Why therefore, if the 8 Divines became Divines because of the creation of Mundus as a result of being Earth bound, did Talos accend to Divinity. Remember in game Lore and mechanics are proof of this as it is possible to receive the Blessing of Talos and Shout Time reduced as a result of wearing the Amulet of Talos. Georgiegril
Hmm, you sound like a Thalmor operative to me! Lol!The "proof" of the shout and blessing could be a prank by Sheorgath or Sanguine, to torment the Elves and the Aedra all in one fell swoop. screendrop
I see, (ps, I AM THE THALMOR MWAHAHAHA) But in all seriousness, there has been some suggestions that perhaps Lorkhan survived his punishment and that Mundus is infact his Realm as he became Daedric although this conflicts with basic lore as it suggests that Lorkhan created Mundus, or initiated its creation, and the meaning of Daedra loosely translates to "not our fathers".
