Why are people adding the word "Overhaul" to every mod?

Overhaul overhaul overhaul overhaul overhaul overhaul overhaul. Say a word too many times, and it loses its meaning, impact, power, whatever you want to call it.

I know that this is something anal retentive people with nothing else better to do get obsessed with, so I will only comment on this once.

For the hell of it, come on people, it's okay to not use "overhaul" with the most insignificant change you make to make people want to use it. If I'm looking for a mod that change the chances of pickpocketing, I will choose the mod that says "pickpocketing chance change" over "pickpocketing OvErHaul!", At the least be original. I would even pick it over "pickpocketting chance change overhaul" just because I'm really looking for more of a specific change, not a change to that one thing plus other features I don't want changed. I'm sick of seeing "overhaul" everything.

Just seems like a cool word someone used for their mod during the morrowind modding scene or something, and then everyone had to use it because it seems grandiose. But really, if your mod actually makes a good change to the game it will be grandiose fireworks awesome no matter what. Look at IHUD, and SkyUI. They didn't need Immersive HUD Overhaul!!!! or Skyrim User Interface OVERHAUL! OMG!! *Jizz pants* to get popular.

To all you that have made an overhaul mod, first of all, good work, I congratulate the effort, but for those planning on making more mods, you really don't need to call it an overhaul if you're hoping your mod will gain more attention. Consider being more specific or at least original with your title. If everyone used the word "overhaul" with their mods, then it would become common to see an overhaul mod... so that the word would have become completely diluted, and your overhauled mod would just seem like another amateurs attempt to make their mod seem like more than what it is. I actually overlook nearly all overhaul mods nowadays for that reason. Maybe even all overhaul mods.

Again, life is much bigger than this little criticism, but meh, take it for what its worth.

You have no idea how tempting it is to call my upcoming new mod "Lichdom Overhaul" because of this thread! And while I'm at it, rename all my mods to "such-and-such Overhaul"! :teehee:

Well, it's called overhaul because it is such

However, if you think it's not overhaul, feel free to mention it in the comment section of the mod, so the author might change it.

For example, mod that changes one perk in two handed tree can't be called overhaul.

To be honest, I prefer calling my mods with "not-so-obvious" names.

> Monster Diversity (Wip of mine.)

> Clutter up Skyrim (Wip as well)

> Armor variants

Name tells something about the mod, without slamming the "Overhaul" in yo' face! Even if those could be counted as overhauls.

Anyway, protip: don't write your posts in angry tone.

Skyrim Redone is the biggest scale overhaul mod and it doesn't even have it in its title. Nor do ACE or Requiem. Everything but actual overhauls are using overhaul in the title!!

What about [insert Intensity] Super Immersive ENB no FPS loss by [insert Name], or Super Immersive [Modification] by [inset name]. an Overhaul mod basically does what it says. I Doubt if any of mods which you "mention" could be more specific.
