May revisit this once there's a price drop... At the moment spending $80 on a game I'm not familiar with is not exactly high on my list of priorities. Given the dwindling community, I'm surprised there hasn't already been one.

I doubt there's going to be price drop Vagrant. It maybe years down the road and after a couple expansions.

But trust me, this game is probably like no other MMO you've played before. The game is truly unique.

As for a "dying" community. It's more like a settling community. The hype of the game is gone and now the population is plateu'ing. I've not seen much of a drop in population in the last few months. In fact, I've actually seen an increase in new players for some reason. There are still 5-6 servers that are full, the rest set at high, and maybe a few others at medium. This is however on the North American side. Not sure about the European side.

@everyone else with concerns about group participation, I'd suggest finding a Role Playing server, even if you don't RP. There's always lots of grouping done there and the communities there are almost always the friendliest I've ever met. I'm on the Tarnished Coast server on the NA side and I'm constantly seeing guild participation and grouping. It's the RP server there, but if you are interested in transfering there, I'd suggest waiting until late in the morning (EST) before trying since it's nearly always full.

GW2 doesnt have faction based PVP or real world PVP so i couldnt get into it

I'm a little confused by this statement. WvWvW is real world PVP. I'm not sure how you think it's not. And although it's technically not "factions" per say, the way WvWvW works is very similar to faction based pvp, except the factions are Servers. So instead of Faction vs Faction vs Faction, it's Server vs Server vs Server, but the mechanic is very much the same.

I was a die hard blizzard fanboy, and had i answered this 4 months ago i would have easily said world of Warcraft but with that games decline (imo), i now have to say EVE online. i had tried it once before and couldn't get past the complexity of i, but i got back into it and now im addicted. so much so i almost failed a college class because i missed an exam after losing track of time in it.

I like WoW, and I've actually had trouble finding MMOs that I enjoy as much. I have tried GW2 yet. I will be trying TESO, and if you like permadeath and open PvP, Wizardry Online just came out. I doubt I'll be trying it though. I won't touch Tera; my powerful female mage shouldn't have to shake her ass like she's working the stage at Shotgun Willie's to cast spells. The armor is gorgeous, though.

Pyro, I haven't seen you in ages, good to see you're still about. I agree about Tera, I find it's portrayal of women, but even worse, children, about as offensive as could possibly be legal. It could be the best game in the world, but it's sexualisation of children is, for me atleast, unforgiveable.

And I would agree, assuming you stay off the "dead four" servers, you'll have a blast with GWII. It feels more like they took a fairly decent single player RPG, and then stuffed in a few thousand players and multiplayer. The 1.1 patch has made a MASSIVE difference-I finally got around to running AC( a dungeon) yesterday, and they've made some huge, gamechanging improvements to balance and difficulty, gamechangers which will, supposedly, begin to filter out into the main world. Perhaps GW's most awesome feature are the "living world" events, most of them serve like the quests in another MMO, and the early ones aren't very impressive, like picking apples of defending a castle from a siege. But some of the later ones are spectacular, multi-stage, 60 player bossfights against a dragon the size of an A-380 passenger jet, some immense multiplayer battles(as in proper battles) and other, spectacular shenanigens. The best thing is they're really trying to make the game need grouping. Admitedly my class is pretty much the lone wolf specialist, but supposedly with the new patch, some other classes are now much more group-reliant.

Pyro, I've played EVE for about 4 years. I may go back one day, but I doubt it. EVE is an amazing game, but I just can't bring myself to go through all the community trouble all over again-because EVE's community is outstandingly bad.

Yeah, i was enlisting in the US navy. final stage of processing i had to see a heart specialist, only to find that the doctor that made me go made a mistake, so after 5 months of processing i opted out and enrolled in college. what happened to the grey night avy? it was bad ass..

I was unaware that tera played so highly on that, i had seen it in stores but never bothered to even pick it up. for the best i suppose.

What do you mean by community? if you mean players than yes, a large majority can be bastards, but i meet alright people all the time. i was considering looting a miners jet can with 25 mill of veldspare in it but decided not to because i wouldn't want that to happen to me, so i go about mining and end up having a a long convo with said miner to pass the time.

In my first 3 weeks i owned and could fly a raven haha. turned out to be a waste of time because my core skills were...lacking. but rookie mistakes and what not.

STO: Only played for half an hour but was highly impressed by the starship combat. Excellent ship gameplay dynamics appeal, but I know nothing else about it.

I'd say STO is a great off and on game with great combat with fun but intense mechanics mixed with wonderful graphics. But it gets boring fast just playing a few hours on weekends and a hour or two every few weekdays over the course of a month I got to max level, finished every dungeon, and got full endgame pve/pvp gear. After which all there is to do is pvp and community mission's which got old quickly. Oh and worst of all at least when I was still playing all anyone wanted to talk about in general chat was Star Trek vs Star wars...

Now if you don't mind a MMOFPS hybrid, from what I've seen and heard, PlanetSide 2 is great with a purely cosmetic Cashshop and a pvp system somewhat like that of GW2. However it seem's pretty if not entirely pvp oriented but I cant be sure as I haven't gotten the chance to play it yet.
