I have a very comfortable setup with my mods at the moment and would really be displeased to break my set up by purchasing dawnguard or other DLC's What kind of problems can I expect after buying dawnguard and installling it?? thank you --Jaz Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
ripple Posted January 30, 2013 Share Posted January 30, 2013 Some mods are not updated for DG, some are but require downloading/installing a DG version or add-on plugin. Most mods are unaffected. To add it, you likely will need to change the versions of a number of mods, and some mods may not be compatible at all. Although during my first playthrough of DG I did install it on a game that was quite far along, I took a lot of time to make sure to make my mods list compatible. I suspect, even with all the care I took, a good deal of my success was due to luck. Although I think you might also experience success with a lot of planning and luck, my personal opinion is that if you are really attached to your current game, wait until you decide you are willing to part with it before introducing DG, or any large mod, for that matter. gamefever Posted January 30, 2013 Share Posted January 30, 2013 I got Dawnguard just after Christmas, I ended up having to reinstall, cut mass amounts of mods out of a stable load order and download the latest mods specifically the DG versions. That took a fair bit of time, and more troubleshooting and experimenting. The transition will pretty much mean that. However I have an Nvidea Card and the Driver that was out in December 312?? IDK, I know this the performance of my game has increased signifacantly to the point that I installed 2 K textures to the World Space.-Though I might pull them in favor of trying to up the amount of script immersion mods, I happen to be testing some INI tweaks with the papyrus memmory threshold right now, probably just a pipedream.
