smithers2334
Hello! please help! I was installing a mod. Dwemer Airship to be specific and i did it correctly i am sure of it, but when i started the game with the mod on, all my saves were deleted! I went to check my oblivion data folder, and the saves were still there, but when i start up the game they aren't! Could anyone please tell me why? nosisab
now i reinstalled it and it wont even open! it says that it encountered a problem and it needs to close!Several things are misplaced, misunderstood or you are mistook in your explanation. The saved games by default are placed in the C:\My Documents\...\oblivion\saves (or the equivalent in Vista), not in the .../data.Yet losing the saved games may count like losing the character, technically isn't the same thing... But to the actual problem... if you mean you reinstalled Oblivion you need to be sure you delete the Oblivion.ini from the C:\My Documents....\Oblivion (not at the installation folder) since the uninstall doesn't remove it. The game will reconstruct a fresh one. The same is valid to the /data content... if the offending feature is yet there the game may fail to start (again the uninstall doesn't touch the /data folder)... Last but not the least, If you save with any mod and that mod is removed it may keep traces on that save, and if is something that affects the game deeply it may fail to start. In this case you need to reinstall the mod, follow it's removal procedures (most mods that can harm when removed have those special procedures to uninstall), afterwards save again without the mod. Yet, maybe was something YOU did wrong that caused all the mess, since that mod works well for most people.
