large scale verses

I have a question for the experienced. I am working on an inside building and was needing a question answered. The walls within this building are a lot. If I increase the scale of the walls it will reduce the number of walls that are required (in short less objects to process, I hope). Will it make a difference in processing speed if I increased the scale of the walls as oppossed to using many walls?

Increasing the scale of the walls will make them no longer snap to gird and likely make building the room harder. If you are worried about your interiors taxing the system you should look into roombounds and, portals. they are used to increase performence in cells that have a lot of objects or FX. There is a youtub tutorial done by Beth on there basic use.

example, you have an interior with 3 rooms you set up three roombounds. One for each room connect them with portals. In game, if the player isn't looking at the doors with the portal those rooms will not render. if the player looks at the door with a portal the room there in and the room that is conneted to the portal will render but, the door and, room with the portal the player is not looking at won't render until the player looks in that direction.

Hope my explanation was clear but, check out the tutorial it is helpfull.
