dontroel
Hi. Tripped over this thread while dealing with this issue. Might not be the same issue everybody here's having, but thought I might chip in with what I did: I got the error; looked around in the config + here and there in the code for NMM on github. Guessed that there might be a way to reset NMM to stop looking for an uninstalled game. It turned out that the easiest (for me) was to use the provided config-option to stop remembering the game mode (which pointed to an uninstalled game for me). In the config file - for me, under something like: %HOMEPATH%\AppData\Local\Black_Tree_Gaming\NexusClient.exe_Url_[...]\[NMM_version]find the file user.configFind RememberGameMode and set it to False: <setting name="RememberGameMode" serializeAs="String"> <value>False</value> </setting>This should allow you to start NMM without the error, and allow you to choose which game to manage. xxRevanxx6626
Pretty sure I've cracked it. Never been on this forum before but I couldn't find an answer and I by accident figured what I'm sure the problem is. Steam's directory and stuff is in the (x86) Program Files folder but Nexus' is in the normal Program Files folder. Cut and Paste the Nexus program files folder into the (x86) folder and then try again. This fixed it for me, hope it does the same for everybody else. you f*#@ing rock dude ty !! GreyWolf40583
Stumbled on this forum when I tried downloading mods and like KillDragon67, I didn't realize I was trying to download mods for Skyrim SE from the mod selection for Skyrim lol
FranckDreden
Hi,I've got the same problem appearing after a set of changes through my install. Here are the steps since I first ran NMM and now: - installed Skyrim SE through Steam, on a different location than steam's default (does that with every game, and everything's fine). Location is: "F:\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition"- installed NMM 0.65.2- downloaded multiple mods through Nexus to NMM- activated mods to SkSE- tested my Skyrim, finally chose to go back to a pristine Vanilla and reinstalling to another Hard drive (F is an HDD, wanted to install my game to an SSD)- uninstalled Skyrim through Steam- DID NOT UNINSTALL / DEACTIVATED mods in NMM!!! (this must be the point where I know... I f*#@ed up)- installed Skyrim SE to another location: "H:\SkyrimSE\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition" (the SSD)- uninstalled NMM and deleted everything NMM related but downloaded mods (about 200)- reinstalled NMM (had to since NMM's installation folder needs to be the same drive than Skyrim's)- launched NMM and scanned my games From there, two things happened:- every mod is now unassigned and everything I tried led me to a NMM crash (update and reset to Nexus' site default, check for mod update...)- when trying to download a mod through Nexus, I have a message telling me my NMM isn't set up to work with Skyrim (which is totally false since IT DOES recognize Skyrim and everything else) So here is my problem, what can I do to have my NMM function normally after all this mess. Thanks in advance for any help.
