Zeperoth
Hi, I'm new to modding, and I'm having some trouble with a texture. I have no idea how to make it all seam together, could someone please help. I'm not sure what the technical jargon is so just look at the pic and help me move on from here. Thank you. Zeperoth
K, well I started from scratch, and I'm at this point now. I've tried exporting it to nifskope but I'm having a lot of trouble doing so. Does someone think they could help me? Thanks in advance.
LHammonds
There is not much that I can tell from looking at these images other than it looks like you do not have textures applied (which will not export to NIF without textures). I am sure there are differences from Oblivion modding but I think you can glean a lot of helpful information from Oblivion tutorials until Fallout 3-specific tutorials are created. Take a look at this Resources for 3D Modeling page. It has several Blender tutorials that can be helpful. Another bit of advice is to examine the models that come with the game to see how they are configured and setup. How they are imported into Blender relies on the Blender NIF Scripts program and is being improved on a regular basis so that can change over time but the true test is to get your model to export and resemble an original NIF file. For example, before trying to tackle getting new armor/clothing in-game, try importing an existing item and figure out what you have to do in order to re-create a NIF file just like the one you imported. This probably requires more NifSkope work at the beginning stages of Blender NIF Scripts but as the import/export tool gets better and better, there will be more settings that you configure inside Blender than NifSkope and hopefully very little changes to the NIF file after export.
