Playing Skyrim again - need help

Hi folks,

I wasn't completely sure if this belongs in this sub-forum or mod talk, so apologies in advance.

So, I haven't played Skyrim in close to a year now, and obviously in that time a million and one new mods have come out, as well myself upgrading my PC specs. I was hoping that you guys could point me in the right direction in terms of the 'must-have' mods for improving graphics and gameplay?

My PC specs:

i5 2500k @ 4.5

GTX 670 (2GB) @ 1250MHz

8GB RAM

So far, the only modding I've done includes SkyUI, RaceMenu and Realistic lighting. Beyond these I begin to get confused as to what mods I should install.

Any and all help is much appreciated.

Thanks!

I think a good start is always the top 25. There are too many mods that are excellent, IMO, but a lot depends on your personal taste. You could just go to the categories and look at the top mods and most recent mods until you find things that look interesting. It's much better to add mods slowly anyway, so if you start out with the ones you already like, then slowly add ones you are interested in, run BOSS and play a bit, it makes it no real trouble to remove if you decide the mod isn't for you.

Thanks Georgie. You are definitely right in there being too many excellent mods, it's so hard to choose!

I think I'll start to experiment with different mods and see how the run on my PC specs. I might try ENB even though I've heard it hammers performance.

I started going to each category and checking out the top 5 mods for endorsements. A lot of excellent mods, and I now have like 120 of them lol. Top 100 or going by category (sorting with most endorsements) are best.

HD textures i believe I read that the LITE version is 2x the Official HD pack and the FULL version is 4x the official. As for ENB, I've only tried one so far, but the performance sharpshooter ENB works great (search for 'performance and sort by endorse)
