AugustaCalidia
Now there is an additional wrinkle when you change computers.Vortex keeps important, game specific information in AppData/Roaming/Vortex. That is where Mastewrlist, Profiles, Snapshots, and inis live.Did you copy those directories to the new computers, or ignore them and all was well? My apologies for neglecting to mention it, but yes, I copied all 144GB of AppData/Roaming/Vortex to my new computer. I copied the entire folder because I transferred all my Vortex managed games to the new computer. I also copied all of the "My Games" folders and saves. The games transferred were Fallout 3, Fallout 4, SkyrimSE, Enderal, and Witcher 3. There were no problems. I was especially pleased to see that the mod page for each game was free of uninstalled duplicates. I'm guessing that purging the game folder is (largely) responsible for this, but that is only a guess. There's one other thing that I forgot to mention. Since I was transferring five established games to another computer, I had to be very careful how I purged the games. As you've probably noticed, if you purge a game and then activate a different managed game, the purge of the previous game is nullified. To avoid this, I would purge the game, then exit Vortex and rename the game folder and all associated folders in AppData\Roaming\Vortex. When I returned to Vortex, the purged game was no longer detected. I had to do this five times. After transferring all game and game related folders to the new computer, I restored all original names before opening and running anything. (Restoring the original names was not an onerous task, since I had simply prepended a "z" to all the folder names. There are two advantages to this. The first is that all the "z" named folders are clustered together and easy to find. The second is that there's only one letter to remove when restoring original names.) Just to be persnickety - if you have 144GB in AppData/Roaming/Vortex - you are doing something wrong.A lot of people with a small SSD for the boot drive would cripple themselves like that. Most likely - Downloads or the mod staging folder defaulted to that location. One of the few things about Vortex I don't approve of.In my case - I want good visibility on anything that chews up a lot of disk space. AppData does not qualify. Mine go to /Vortex on some non-boot drive. What is Latin for persnickety?
AugustaCalidia
@rmm200 If I had a small SSD boot drive (my fist one was 120GB), I would not have elected the Vortex defaults. However, I have a 1TB SSD boot drive, and so the Vortex default was my easy way out. Since I don't have a lot of technical expertise about Windows 10, I'm more comfortable going with defaults if my computer system can accommodate them. Try censorius, which means "exacting." Also, fastidiosus, which means "fussy."
rmm200
I think Fastidiosus is a better fit for me...
