mezlo
That quote is about Operation: Anchorage, the first DLC. This takes place inside a computer simulation so it won't affect the main plot at all. My comment had nothing to do with whether or not it will affect the main plot. It's just that they took an FPS game and are adding a non-FPS element to it. If I wanted to control other forces, then I'd be playing games that focus on that, not an FPS game. It's unlikely I'll buy or play Operation: Anchorage because of this. Mez
mikekearn
Mez, I really doubt it will be anywhere near the kind of thing some games have. While it's possible they will be adding things that significantly change gameplay, it seems to be it would be more in line with the style of gameplay to have slightly more interactive followers/companions. Which, as far as modding goes, seems great to me. Oblivion and Morrowind both had some excellent mods that made heavy use of scripts and effects added in the expansions, and I see no reason why Fallout 3 couldn't be the same. macmert
Source: http://bethblog.com/index.php/2008/12/12/level-cap-raised/"These include interactive Strike Teams under the player’s command" Now why do they have to go and ruin a perfectly good FPS by putting in crap like that? Just give me a weapon and let me slaughter the enemy. Is that too much to ask?!? Mez umm... Can I ask you something? Is fallout an FPS??? :)
enkephalin07
"Interactive Strike Teams"? Whoopdefukindoo. That sounds like all the personality of Fallout Tactics. Why can't we have a Sulik, a Cassidy, hell, even a Myron?! Why do all the followers have the dimension of cardboard and get annoyingly repetitive within 5 minutes? I wouldn't even mind having a friendly-firing goofball around as long as they're entertaining.
Starch
Personally I am glad that they are changing the ending. Though I wish the change was in the first DLC or 2nd DLC then 3rd DLC. Same with Level cap.
jaosals42
Maybe they will decide that if you sacrificed your character in PP, you somehow return (possibly with the same true with Lyons), maybe because the exposure to radiation wasn't strong enough or something like that. But that would sound quite dumb, IMO. :whistling:
WrathOfDeadguy
I'd laugh my arse off if they decided to turn the PC into a ghoul and just said "here, you can survive, but now you're fugly." That'd be hilarious and very Fallout.

I cannot see how them adding content that isn't mandatory could possibly ruin the game. Maybe you are afraid you "can resist anything except temptation"? Others, of course, might not want to ignore the content. This is called "win-win."
