What could cause a custom worldspace to CTD?

Good evening everybody!

 

This is kind of related to this post:

This is currently my problem:

 

When I load my worldspace (coc / cow ), the game CTDs.

 

So, the question is, what can cause a worldspace to crash-to-desktop?

 

Here is a list of the things that i have done:

  • Made a copy of the "Commonwealth" worldspace with FO4Edit
  • Renumbered all of the IDs of that duplicated worldspace
  • Renamed the cell names of all the cells of that worldspace with a unique "prefix" (for example SanctuaryExt02 becomes PWCSancuaryExt02 in the duplicated Worldspace)
  • Removed all of the actors in the worldspace (if there is a unique actor that exists more then that could cause problems)
  • Checked for errors with FO4Edit (only found some NavMesh stuff, but I don't even have NavMesh in that worldspace)
  • Converted the ESP to a ESM
  • Checked to see that I am not over the "maximum reference count limit"

And when I try to "go into" that worldspace, the game crashes.

 

What else could I try to do here?

Phew theres so much that could have gone wrong. Maybe it's because there's no

precombined data (No existing nifs)

 

Unique Actors

Triggerboxes with scripts

Some other stuff with scripts and quests attached

Xmarkers with Scripts and Location Data

 

Also I presume some copied cells still retain their original LocationData/EncounterZones which are tied to quests/workshops

These are just guesses though.

 

 

There is a guyrl that copied the FarHarborIsland. Maybe (s)he's still active and can help you.

Yes, I thought that the activators, XMakers ,terminals, ..... could cause problems ...

 

I will try to delete them as well ...

And I will try to remove the location date & encounter zone data as well ...

 

 

(DELETE ALL THE THINGS !!!!!1)

(Except doors and statics and things like that ...)

 

 

(God I hope it isn't because of precombined stuff, because my CK crashes when I try to even touch that ...)

So, I deleted everythng from the "worldspace" excepz the statics and the landscape.

And removed the location data and encounter zone stuff.

 

But, the game still crashes when trying to COC into one of the cells of that worldspace ...

 

 

Maybe I should just give up on this project ....

 

 

It's not that I don't have the willpower to do this, normally I keep working on stuff unitl it works, or at least unitl I understand it.

But this "worldspace stuff" is just so weird and documentation is practically non-existent.

 

 

 

 

 

I mean, I work for a company that produces very specialized electrical test equipment. And our developers are really lazy when it comes to documentation.

But at least I can ask them if I really get "stuck on something" ...

 

 

Maybe I am just "not good" with "software" ....

 

But then again, things like programming are OK for me, I guess I just have problems with "using other people's software" ...

 

 

 

So, I don't know if the problem is "on my side" or on the "game engine" side here .....
