VulcanTourist
Are you certain the game is truly "un-modded" when you observe this? Unless you're an expert with the NTFS filesystem and know the game's file structure inside-and-out it can be rather difficult to be certain that the game is "pristine" unless you've taken the step of deleting and reinstalling the game; verifying files is not an equivalent, as it doesn't remove anything extra, like overriding loose textures or meshes. It's always been a best-practice rule to make a backup of the game's file hierarchy - at least a compressed archive - before beginning to mod. I can't say that I've noticed this, but then there are plenty enough things I don't notice that others have created specific mods to correct. Scrubaluficus
all mods disabled in mod organizer 2 so i would hope. is there a way that i can fix it in creation kit? if i do it the way your telling me to im never gonna be able to play the stupid game because ill be too busy dealing with the aforementioned problem as i have no clue whats setting it off in the first place and i have no reliable way of isolating the issue. its quite obviously not supposed to do that base. granted it looks as though i may do it anyways just not now too frustrated. also kinda wishing i went with oldrim instead it seems alot more stable and ive never had this crap happen modding oldrim. hell even fallout new vegas handeled better and thats saying something. VulcanTourist
Since I started playing/modding again with SSE (and Vortex), it's taking me months to build and troubleshoot the mod list that I want. I'm careful and extremely deliberative, and even I'm not careful enough. I spend as much time troubleshooting as playing, and I get frustrated at times and just ignore the less game-breaking misbehaviors (like vampires with black Neanderthal faces) so that I can "recharge", as my wife would say. I've never heard of this mentioned as a vanilla bug and I never noticed it, but that doesn't mean it isn't. You probably need to be sure of that before you bloody your forehead against a concrete mod wall thinking the fault is yours, yes?
Scrubaluficus
if i could show you a picture without it going past the attachment data limit i would. its not something you could miss easily. from a few feet away you can see wulfgars full forhead mole and all. its a real eye sore. borri could be an "accident" because it just seems to be his brows and i only know that from peaking in creation engine. but theres just no way wulfgars fat forehead wouldnt have been missed. on xbox copy its fine but i know thats xbox. HadToRegister
I've got 315 mods installed with Vortex, I've never had the problem you describe.I suggest you verify your game files through steam. Also, is it possible you had the game modded BEFORE and forgot to remove any mod files? Scrubaluficus
nope was totally clean i uninstalled everything from my last attempt even the manager. game was then reinstalled completely through steam. after purging the skyrim directory of loose files im probably just gonna restart the whole thing at this point. doubt it will work knowing my luck with skyrim se. only had 50 mods and ive taken pictures so at least my work is cut out for me. ill probably be back once again knowing my luck. When you uninstalled SKyrim SE, did you use Steam to uninstall it? If so, if any files from leftover mods exist, Steam will them them there and not completely remove the game. The best way to start 'clean' is to uninstall Skyrim SE with Steam,. then go to your \Steamapps\Common Folder and make sure there isn't a Skyrim Special Edition folder there, if there is, then it has files that Steam doesn't know to uninstall. You need to physically delete the Skyrim SE folder and redownload the game in order to make sure everything is clean. VulcanTourist
That's two votes for a clean install including full deletion....
Scrubaluficus
HadToRegister you literally just described step by step what i did to uninstall the game in the first place which was described prior... "after purging the skyrim directory of loose files" so yes i did do that. became habit after modding new Vegas for so long with way more success than this crap. will still try it probably months later and ill probably be right back here with either the same problem or a slightly different one just you watch. ive given up for now------------------------------------------------ So it appears it happens in the base game even after i cleared the directories and fully reinstalled the game without modding it in any way shape or form. totally at a loss now.
