fgoron2000
I have a Ubisoft PC CD version of GOTY, playing on Windows 10, and have played the game a number of times, but it's been a few years. I'm coming back primarily for the most recent version of Tamriel Rebuilt, and I'm curious about the initial install order. I've read a number of threads, watched YouTube videos etc, various forums, and I've come across two differing opinions on it. I've seen - (most frequently)1 - Morrowind / Tribunal / the 1.4 patch / Bloodmoon / the 1.6 patch / Morrowind Code Patch v2.4 / everything else or (less frequently)2 - Morrowind / Tribunal / Bloodmoon / the 1.6 patch (without using the earlier 1.4 patch) / Morrowind Code Patch v2.4 / everything else So, should I, or should I not, install that v1.4 patch after TB or not, if I'm going to be installing the 1.6 patch and even MCP (which requires v1.6) after BM anyway? My initial thought is that it doesn't matter, but then it doesn't hurt to ask. I guess it comes down to whether those patches update the game in its entirety, or just the individual expansions. If the former, then v1.4 shouldn't be necessary, true? Thanks for any insights offered.
Necrolesian
I have the GOTY CD version of the game, and I've never had to install any of the official patches. My understanding is the GOTY Bloodmoon CD includes the last official patch, though I don't know if there's some other GOTY version that doesn't. gnarly1
<snippity>I have the same GOTY version as you and you don't need to install any patches. Just do the install of the base game and the DLC in the order specified in the install window and your game will be v1.6.1820. EDIT: Also, rather than having to install all the mods/tools/patchers that are usually recommend to 'fix' vanilla Morrowind, I recommend checking out openMW (openmw.org) as it's fully playable and you can still run most of the mods that are available for vanilla as well.
