RevanCathal
I've recently gotten back to trying to play Skyrim and after swapping out my old HP for an iBuyPower Gaming PC, thought this should actually be fun and better. But apparently even running only 80 mods with less than 100 plugins and just under 1400 added animations, it's still lagging in caves/keeps/dungeons where there's background animation such as moving water or wind kicking up dust. Other such places with practically 0 background animation scripts run as they should. Lag also happens to be heavier in the predetermined quest dungeons (i.e. Main quest related such as Helgen Keep or Bleaker Falls Barrow). Tried seeing if there's an issue due to plugin placement but there doesn't seem to be a way to change load order via Vortex like you could with NMM, or at least I haven't found one. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Vortex has LOOT built in, so Vortex automatically has your load order sorted properly. The only time you need to manually sort is if Vortex is complaining about a file conflict. What is the specs of your new PC? Old Skyrim, is 32 bit, so can only access around 4 gigs of Ram. Skyrim SE, is 64 bit, and can access all of it. What video card do you have? Processor etc? Are you sure you installed all of those things from the Skyrim LE site, and not from the Skyrim SE mod site? You installed 1400 animations? It'd help to know what mods you have installed, and what these 1400 animations are They might use 4K or 8K textures that can really bog down a computer
RevanCathal
6 gb RAM, not running anything above 4k in texture. Even tried dropping body mods to 2k to reduce the issues. For animations FNIS, XM32E Skeleton (as well the XM32 Child skeleton for RSChildren Overhaul), Beeing Female, SexLab Framework (only chose it because Flower Girl doesn't properly sync up with Beeing Female and OSA/OSEX is boring), FNIS Sexy Move and Sexy Idle. All mods downloaded are specifically Skyrim LE version. Ran into even heavier crash issues with SE at only a quarter of the amount of mods I'm trying to run for LE so I've stepped away from SE. HadToRegister
6gb of ram for running games, seems pretty low, is it windows 10?
RevanCathal
Yes it's Windows 10. I personally thought that was a little low as well but for my budget, I could only go as high as $800 for a new computer. If the RAM is the issue, I have no problem upgrading that but I'll have to see what my machines max capability on RAM is before I go that route. Yes, because Skyrim is 32 bit, it can only access 4 gigs, however, Windows 10, if you have the 64 bit version, along with it's processes and services, can access all of it, along with anything else running on the system that is 64 bit I'm still wondering about the 1400 animations, that seems Excessive in every way
RevanCathal
Majority are Sexlabs base animations.
RevanCathal
So more or less figured out that I was running to heavy on the size of the mod files. It wasn't necessarily the amount of animations as the standard FNIS mod can handle up to 10,000 animations. Also fixed the issue that was causing an instant crash for Skyrim SE. Might play SE a bit more after I clear through LE for achievements, but should have everything running correctly now. Thank you guys.
