Canyew
For the longest time from when I started skyrim, I used better breezehome by scottbee. Now this home is ok for a starting player. has everything you need (including load doors everywhere) Forge room with NPC a nice armory room ( http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=125718180 what I consider the perfect armory) that had a mannequin and weapon racks to put a full matching set of armor and weapons (Example, putting ebony armor on a mannequin, then on the racks, from left to right, dagger, 1h sword, 1h axe, mace, 2h sword, 2h axe, warhammer, and bow from the same material type to match) It made the most perfect collections display hall. The downside to the house is that it was COMPLETELY unrealistic to the size of breezehome (It was like 4x the size of itself inside then its outside) and to me, it breaks the game. After looking at over 100 house mods or more, I haven't found a home with an armory I like that has organization space of better breezehome. And the select ones that do have that kind of space are mostly devoid of any decorations or look nice at all. I want a house mod that has all the normal crafting stuff, with its own storage areas and a armory thats like that, with a full display and look nice, decoarted well. A hall like that with bookracks you can fill here and there with seating areas, a fireplace or two.... Is there even another home mode that even exists like that? Or am I just SoL? Canyew
Also, I am not sure this was the right area for this post. maybe 85% sure it is. Considering I read the rules and such. If it isn't I could take it down and post it in the correct area.
worldofscotty
One of the most important things for me is to be in the middle (ish) of the map. I never use fast travel so I like to be able to get around to places without massive treks. This one is pretty amazing I think. http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/14308 Also don't underestimate the value of downloading the CK and doing a little bit of editing yourself to things within other peoples mods to get them how you like them. Leveler's tower is also pretty epic if you can get around the cheating part of it. Edited February 9, 2013 by worldofscotty
Canyew
I have no clue how to use the CK, at all... Last time I tired to make a map for something was with Hammer for HL2.... I had to reinstall half life 2 after that.... As for fast traveling, well.... its just fast travel. I am lazy, (No offence I understand why you don't want to use it, better immersion and such) With a quest log thats thicker then your average dictionary I'd rather fast travel then to spend 30 min going to a place to kill things (Most likely undead or famler half the time) for like 1 to 4 hours. then to travel another hour somewhere else. My slacker mode kicks in and is like "Lets just face travel." Anyway the fast travel thing is the point. to me the three most important things is A: How functional a house is and its storage is organized. B: The size of the armory and how it will look after I finish filling it with armor and weapons. C: How nice the house looks overall. Just as a note, I don't use followers, don't care for them so a house thats navmeshed really isn't a requirement. ilikecheese1337
Give it a go, you can always reinstall the mod - modding a mod won't hurt Skyrim itself. Also, I use Castle Grey. Best armoury in a player home mod I've ever seen, hands down.

There's lots of storage space, bookshelves, crafting stations, and lots of weapon racks and mannequins to store gear on.
Canyew
Looked that one over but... I guess the screenshots don't show off the storage room to well. If you look at my first post screenshot of that armory, thats the ideal armory type I am looking for, just more decorated and a organized a bit better. If anyone has any more suggestions, please post them up. Edited February 9, 2013 by Canyew
akmatov
This one is pretty amazing I think. http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/14308 The Riverside Lodge with Sauna by Lupus linked above is one of the best house mods I have ever seen. Clearly a lot of thought went into it. Highly recommended.
TheGreenLion
My house mod may interest you, though it's somewhat specialized towards barbaric type characters. I would say it's a medium sized home in a nice location in the western tundra. Plenty of storage and display opportunities, although I've spread it out so as not to have it all in one area. Feel free to check it out! Link is in my signature. Edited February 9, 2013 by TheGreenLion
Sjogga
The Dawnspire was designed to be able to host all unique weapons in the game. Aside fron that, there is room for Dragonpriest masks, dragon claws and plenty of books. The main feature however is that the house automatically sorts all your items into various chests for you. For example, placing a sword into any container will send it into a chest in the armory. There are dozens of more features, so if you are interested press the link in my signature.
