Belial666
With no mods,I don't see the issues. With the RLO I do see the shadow on guard, but it's not as bad as your pic,so it's something with that and a LOD setting, and prob the torch mod oyu were using. Also, seems some objects the shadows aren't right, platters on tables have the shadow looking too far from the object. The moving and shadows flickering,I dunno what can cause that, unless it's another mod,or tweak you did that did something.Maybe disable all ESPs and see what happens, then enable each separately and see which is the issue. It's a pain, but can help figure it out,and let the author know there's an issue with a certain one to help get it fixed.I know some get too blocky,or the move a bit cuase of the sun setting,or the cand;es/fire making it look moving. ElfLover
Now I went through having to uninstall the whole game to start fresh. I checked the game without mods and the shadow problem is still there so apparently it's not the mods doing it. And I managed to also nab some screenshots the best I could of what's happening whenever I move in certain ways/angles. http://i326.photobucket.com/albums/k423/Devanwind/2013-02-11_00002.jpghttp://i326.photobucket.com/albums/k423/Devanwind/2013-02-11_00004.jpghttp://i326.photobucket.com/albums/k423/Devanwind/2013-02-11_00006.jpghttp://i326.photobucket.com/albums/k423/Devanwind/2013-02-11_00007.jpg Please please, someone help. I'm really hoping someone knows what's going on here cause I don't know what more I can do than do my best to ignore it.
Belial666
Only other thing I can think of is a video driver issue.Maybe try older ones,or a beta version is availiable.Maybe up the RAM allocated to it if you can. Also, try on medium setting, and see if it helps. tVEC
I'd like to chime in, because I have always had shadow problems too, even on a HD7950. I'm using Project ENB for COT. Even with the shadow fix I get vibrating or flickering shadows when I move around. It is not the sun related flicker. It is especially noticable on fences like the new SMIM fences. I have tried a bazillion ini tweaks, the vanilla settings, with AO, without AO, with no mods, different settings for the ENB shadows, nothing stops the flickering when I'm moving. And my issue is only in exteriors. Interiors seem fine. Edited February 13, 2013 by tVEC
Belial666
Someone posted there's new beta AMD drivers, maybe they'll help, can't hurt to try.Seems alot of graphics issues are on AMD cards. Here's link http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages/AMDCatalyst132BetaDriver.aspx
aralin
I've had this problem in interiors (in addition to some exterior shadow striping) and I have an Nvidia GTX 560, so it's not exclusive to AMD cards. Usually for me, disabling lighting mods fixes it. The first time I encountered the flickering, it went away when I uninstalled Enhanced Lighting and FX. More recently, I fixed it again by disabling the interiors modules of Realistic Lighting Overhaul. The author of RLO claims that some flickering issues will be fixed in the next update. However, if mods aren't your problem, I suggest some ini tweaking, such as what's detailed in Post 2 here: http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/538874-flickering-shadows-driving-me-crazy/ and post 1 here: http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/858031-flickering-shadows-driving-me-mad-please-help/. There are good shadow settings here http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/19632 and here http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/148, which greatly improved my overall shadows and might help you as well. Dhochstedler
I have the same problem all of above and I think I narrowed it down the Graphics Card. But don't know what to do since I know this graphics card is preferable because it came with my Alienware laptop ?!? So I'll see if I can mess with it and hopefully get it work without shadows being on top of everything and slightly invisible people.
SmileAllDayAllNight
Hi, it may be 3 years later but people can still find this useful. I had the same issues with shadows - I run Skyrim on Lenovo W520 with dedicated card nVidia Quadro 2000m - when I forced game run on this card through dll it caused shadows flickering, so I removed dll file and ran it (as suggested by game) on Intel HD integrated graphic card - no flickering shadows, everything was smooth.
