UrgeNexus
Actually, a Daedra's sphere is based on what they do, what Daedra do is not based on their sphere.I've always heard it the other way around, in that they are embodiments of their spheres and thus cannot act outside them. sajuukkhar9000
The only daedric prince who can't act outside of his sphere is Dagon, but thats becuase he was cursed by Alduin.
Rukerius
What I'd really like to know is what Hermaeus Mora told Storn when he was absorbing his knowledge, seeing as he said, and I'll try to quote to my best, "No, you lie!". I believe Hermaeus might have told him something about their All-Maker or something along those lines.
kradus
I haven't gotten there yet, but aren't the skaal werewolfs? Maybe Mora wants to butt in Hircine's affairs.

NoAardvarksAllowed
Considering none of the Skaal, including the shaman, have any sort of magical abilities, I got the impression that it must have been something of pure religious, cultural or traditional significance, only of value to the Skaal. It wouldn't have been forging Stahlrim, since that wouldn't have been the shaman's domain. Besides, it turns out to be just like forging ebony. When you go there after seeing Miraak for the first time, they are holding up a magical barrier to keep Miraaks brainwashing out of the village. NoAardvarksAllowed
True. I didn't think of that. I was referring to their actor stats and abilities which I noted when up-leveling them, since it doesn't make sense to me that most of them are level 1 when they keep talking about how dangerous their existence is. Madcat221
It doesn't matter what the Skaal actually knew. It was knowledge that Hermy didn't have and it drove him batty.
