Snow Beast

This is my latest work for my mod. This creature has no eyes but can sense body heat through pores in his chin. He will live in the frozen Ice plains in the north of Pellucidar and his main purpose is to make sure the player doesn't go too far north. He'll be tough, maybe too tough to kill, you may have no choice but to run from him.

I've finally figured out how to keep the poly count low. You can see in the untextured shot that the vert count is 1665 and the face count is 1644. There are only two triangles on the back of the knees and on the elbows. Triangles are bad in case you don't know but they are a necessity in certain joints.

Please help me name him. The last time I tried to name something I came up with Fluffy for this

What about just Busilak?

That's exactly what I was thinking. I still want to see if anyone can top dezdimona's suggestion but I really like Busilak.

I'm working on the high poly model now and hope to make the 16 bit displacement map soon. I then have to rig him and animate. Hopefully I've learned enough to have this finished soon.

WOW! lots of great names to choose from. Thanks everyone for the responses.

Taking from both tyreil829 and forsaken_epicentre, wouldn't the German name be Eishund?

I'd like to keep the name simple, easy to read and preferably not in english, my favorites so far are....

Busilak...simple, easy to read/pronounce and it may mean snow but it sounds tough.

Atarek...same as above but no real meaning that I know of.

Eishund... also has a nice ring to it.

Keep em coming people and if you don't have a suggestion, vote on your favorite so far.
