Fo4 is GONE

I installed several mods with Fallout 44 and Vortex no longer recognizes Fo4 as a game. Managed or not, it is simply not listed in Vortex. I ignored this for a while, launching FOSE manually, but I wanted to add more mods recently.

 

I uninstalled and reinstalled Vortex but the problem persists. And now, related or not im not sure, but I suppose my mods are no longer installed as I can no longer chat which characters as the dialog shows an error stating the script extender is not running.

Edit: Doing more digging.

I have discovered `AppData\Roaming\Vortex\fallout4` exists, containing mods and such. Will make sure to hang on to this.

I am maybe close... I copied that folder above and deleted everything in the vortex app data folder. Fallout 4 was back. I re-added my folder and attempted to get back to business. Many issues and warnings. I get through most. And here is where I am now.

yes, that was not the issue.

 

since deleting all files in the vortex app data folder I was able to get the game to appear again (this is even after reinstalling). But now as mentioned above, my game save is a little messed up, not sure if it can be repaired.

Sounds like you just need to re-enable the esps it says are missing.
