Okay. Well now it's pulled from the Nexus completely. Any ideas what that was all about?

It was essentially a 'potentially' malicious program that had nothing to do with Skyrim at all and was causing huge problems for a lot of people. It also seemed to alter a lot of very bad things and whoever made it had basically no clue what they were doing, or had very bad intentions.

Spoken like someone who never actually used it.

I ran the program and my computer SCREAMS. In a good way.

It did disable one or two features that I liked (namely Windows Explorer taskbar shortcuts and thumbnail images), but there was a fix for thumbnails in the optional files.

It did no harm to my computer. Would endorse.

Yep and the person who started the thread did use it and had issues, you don't need to use a software to recognize that it can do potential harm.

In this thread, Ragnax even took the time to explain what the changes were doing , which led to the file being taken down.

The thing is, while you might not see problems right away, it doesn't mean that they won't appear later because of the use you did of the program.

there is a free tool on the internet called system mechanic. The software publisher is named Iolo. I run the free version which is an active service that runs like a virus scanner - it auto updates registry configurations and tune up configurations for free, there are purchase options available to add more components to the the free version. It will identify for free pup(s) potentineially unwanted startup programs, detect system clutter, backup your registry based on a weekly schedule, tune your registry. It's a great tool - try it out for free... This wont fix your skyrim problems, unless skyirm or ck has bogus registry entries - which you can fix by using this tool or doing other things.. Granted there are much better pc repair tools out there than system mechanic but this is very easy to use and does the job well enough for free

Anyway

have fun good luck

System mechanic can give a lot of bluescreens on Windows 7 systems so might not be the best solution for windows 7 os users, there is quite a few tools however like ccleaner, spybot S&D to name a few.

I don't even know what to say to this. That doesn't change the fact that it has NOTHING to do with Skyrim, at all, and shouldn't be on the Nexus. On top of that, as was posted above someone posted out what each change did in another thread. It 'speeds things up' by randomly disabling a bunch of stuff, a lot of it important, on your computer. That's no solution. That would be like making your car more fuel efficient by taking all of the paneling off the sides, and reducing it to a seat, an engine, and a bare frame.

So true, AlexanderjVelicky.

TYC even made my Paint Shop Pro 9 stop working.

I mean....WHAT!??

So if that guy installed it and thinks its "running fine," I'd love to be there when he tries to start a paint porgram, or some other random app he uses... and BAM! All he gets is hangtime, baby!

I'm mildly annoyed: seeing as I'm a digital painter who cannot PAINT anymore
