rickard13
What setting or thing does an actor have that makes guards attack the player if the player attacks the actor. For example attacking a bandit in a city will not make the guards hostile towards you. Then spawning a non-hostile actor with no crime faction like Faldrus but attacking them will still make the guard attack the player despite faldrus not being part of a crime faction. So what specifically makes a guard protect an actor when the actor is attacked.
anjenthedog
1) an accidental hit on a guard/soldier will usually initiate an attack (in my experience)2) purposely attacking a soldier/guard3) attacking a civilian4) if you have somehow acquired an enemy flag on your player. (speculation. I have found my self attacked for "no reason" and think it was the result of a glitch of some sort... I ended up reloading... but I've never played as a vampire or werebeast or anything so I have no direct experience with that)
rickard13
What makes an actor a civilian then?
anjenthedog
What makes an actor a civilian then?EX: Whiterun: The children. The various vendors, people inside the pubs and stores, the old ladies and men walking around. And of course... Chickens. by civilian (wrt to humanoids) I mean the various NPCs in a city, no matter their station, be it beggar or jarl or in-between, (as opposed to a uniformed soldier/guard) Chickens.... idk. They seem to be revered. I avoid them religiously and actually go out of my way to resurrect them when a beast or battle kills them, Same for cows or goats with bells. the only ones who aren't subject to that consideration are those the jarl has deemed removable, like when a dawnguard quest requires the removal of a threat to a jarl and you steal, then present proof to the jarl that they're a vampire
rickard13
I meant as in game engine wise. What setting or thing do they have that makes them a citizen? I mean like what does the actor have in the CK that makes them a citizen? a faction or a keyword perhaps?
anjenthedog
Oh. I have no idea. PS> I am using the word "citizen" loosely, experientially, not officially. If you want a more authoritative answer to a question like that, I'd suggest asking in the Creation Kit forum.
saurusmaximus
They are in different factions. So, to use the Whiterun example; there is a Whiterun Guard Faction, a faction for each person's house (to determine ownership), a faction for the Bannered Mare so people will go visit there after work, etc. I don't know the under the hood mechanics of it, but if an actor is in a faction that the guards are neutral or hostile to, like when vampires attack the city for instance, they don't register you attacking them as a crime. But if you get caught murdering Nazeem (as so many people like to do), you'll incur a bounty because he is in a faction the guards are friendly to. https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Factions
righteousgoddoward
If the actor smells really bad, the guard is more likely to attack
