NRWolf
So basically the title says the gist of the problem. I can load Skyrim SW though the steam loader and it boots up, songs are sung, the peasants rejoice. Of course nothing that requires Skse64 will function properly if I do this. So going over to Skse64 Loader, and I click it, screen goes black, and then nothing back to the desktop, no rejoicing, no songs are sung. Nothing on in the background. I've been trouble shooting all week, even going so far as to delete all mods, and skyrim, and reload everything slowly from the ground up. Starting Skyrim before any mods are even downloaded, and then moving from there. Any suggestions and help would be much appreciated.
anjenthedog
FWIW... (no guarantees, just a suggested course of action to see if it helps you) SKSE64 version? If you're running 2.0.19, I'd recommend "downgrading to 2.0.17 (presuming you're running Skyrim 1.5.97) Yeah I know, all the kewl kids are fully updated to 2.0.19 I had no luck with it. 2.0.17 runs the game just fine. Thank you! This is my next step in the process. It's just really annoying. I finished this amazing PC build for a laptop and now I'm sitting here whimpering because I want the pretty pretty skyrim. NRWolf
So Un FWIW... (no guarantees, just a suggested course of action to see if it helps you) SKSE64 version? So I tried it, and it did the same thing. It gave me hope and then flicked back to the desktop screen like it just wanted to tease me.
anjenthedog
Sorry. As I said, no guarantees. It was worth a shot though. You have steam running, right? Even using SKSE64_loader, Steam needs to be running. (regardless of whether it's set to online or offline mode)
saurusmaximus
Is this a new install or did it suddenly start happening? It sounds like you have an SKSE-dependent mod that isn't playing well with your setup, either because of a conflict or a missing file. Is LOOT throwing any errors on your load order? Another thing to look at is to check that you aren't having any permissions issues with the folder Skyrim is installed in, and that your AV isn't blocking SKSE as a virus. BlazeStryker
No errors there. Same hassle. New install. I've been installing and trimming and ordering for two full days now. I hate computers.Ned Lud was right.I need... a chisel. Cuneiform needs a comeback.
