I was playing fine until I decided to start a new game so I first removed a couple mods before starting a new game I removed the mod maxwell's world, and then added Female Head Redux,Murdering Chainsaw,Beantown Interiors with the Full OptiBeantown Interiors Full Optimization Patch, and then enabled them and tried to start a new game and it acted like it was loading but then the screen loading wheel froze and then the screen went black and the game crashed and I know the cause is not the mods as I tried starting new game without any mods still same issue is there any way to find the cause or is there just a fix?

The problem with texture mods, and various others, is that simply disabling them in whatever mod manager you use, doesn't actually remove them from the game.

There are some mods that specifically suggest you do NOT have them enabled when starting a new game. Don't know if any you are using fall into that category though.

yes but as I first posted I tried starting new game without any mods still with the same issue I also uninstalled FO4 and deleted the whole Fallout 4 directory and then reinstalled fallout and then tried again with out no mods or re-texture mods and got the same issue but I am wondering if the cause is one of the ini files in the my documents fallout 4?

Did you also tell your mod manager that you uninstalled everything? If not, then probably a fair few of your texture mods were still there......

nope because I use vortex that is the only manager that I am used to and like and fave and trust, vortex is the most easyest one to use for me.

I don't know if this will help you or not, but for reasons I can't determine, when starting a new game on my Fallout 4, it does the black loading screen with a spinny thingy in the corner for a while, then crashes to desktop.

I discovered quite by accident, however, that if I start tapping 'enter', it will force it into the opening cinematic movie and start as normal. Since I discovered that, I can start a new game reliably.

Give it a try! It might work or it might not - hopefully it does!

unfortunatly I have tried tapping the enter key but did nothing and when it goes to the black screen there is no loading icon on the screen the only loading spinny thingy is there before the black screen but first the loading screen with spinny thingy is normaal at first then spins slower and then the spinny thingy stops as if it's frozen and I hear the thene menue song skip then the screen goes black and then crashes but I thank you for trying I did see other people only had part of the issaue I had but nothing on google or yahoo with the ecact same issue so my issue is currently a unknown issue that i am confuzzled about, but maybe it's one of my ini files that is the cause I'll have to try to uninstall and delete every FO4 file again but this time delete the ini files and all the files in Documents\My Games\Fallout4 then try again to reinstall and see if it fixes the issue.

Don't forget the file in C:\Users\yourusername\app data\fallout 4 as well. (that's a hidden folder, so, you will need to enable viewing hidden files/folders as well.)

May want to reset your mod manager as well. (uninstall it???)

C:\Users\myusername\AppData\Local\Fallout4 the only files are

plugins.txt loadorder.txt and DLCList.txt, ok I have uninstalled the game and deleted every file in C:\Users\myusername\AppData\Local\Fallout4 and C:\Users\myusername\AppData\Local\Fallout4 and in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 4\Data and in C:\Users\myscreenname\Documents\My Games\Fallout4 and then reinstalled the game and still same issue I am wondering if there is something wrong with the default files that is effecting the main menu screen? if not then I am out of ideas and I can never play fallout 4 again until I or someone else can find the cause and a true fix.

:(

If you've removed all your mods, uninstalled the game, and literally deleted every single trace of the game from your system and redownloaded it from scratch, and it's still doing it, then it has to be something to do with your system itself I suppose - it's settings, conflicting software, something like that. That's a bit above my knowledge level though!

When you did all of that, did you also uninstall and delete every trace of your mod manager (I think you said you used Vortex) and other 'third-party' installed software too?

Have you installed anything else (non-Fallout 4-related) on your machine in the time between the game working properly and the game not working?
