Rune
The block skills is great at higher levels. It's saved my arse many times.
Waxman22
1. not too sure about Fargoth, soory can't help there. 2. you are only level 5, keep exploring, running, jumping, casting spells, practicing skills and get yourslef a couple more levels and go back and kick his arse/score yourself that baddies axe :) . 3. Money money money....i am surprised that no one has already mentioned this (if they did i musta missed it), but sneak around and steal everything you can get your hands on without getting caught. i found that certain books sell quite well, if you can ever get your hands on masters alchemy devices they will sell for a nice profit, and also i found that when possible to take the weapons hanging in the guard towers in Balmora you can make some quick profit. can't stress enough the value of thieving skills!! oh yes, it is good to note that some merchants buy certain item types for more money. 4. Blocking skill is not THAT tough to raise. here is what i did that seemed to work: find an area with some lower level monsters that attack in packs, block and heal, block and heal, keep it up till you run low on spell power then kill them off before you run out of health. hope this helped a bit..... tmons78
Block skill is not a waste of time! <_< with a high level you can block almost all the blows! Yep, which then helps out your armorer skill as well, having to fix the shield all the time. A win-win situation. :) Seriously, block is well worth the trouble. As far as money goes, buy/enchant a weapon with soul trap cast on strikes, learn the spell, or buy the gem feeder scrolls. Then get plenty of any type of soul gem. Go around killing everything in sight and trapping their souls. The Creeper in Caldera buys filled soul gems for the total amount, and he has 5000. Continue doing this, and it can be a very profitable situation, and should give you plenty of money early in the game.
Mojlnir
As far as Fargoth goes, nothing I can say hasn't been said already. He's a pathetic, weak loser and it makes us feel good to pick on him. As for gettting your @ss kicked, Link and everyone else is right. Level up. There are trainers available for most of the skills that you can select, so visiting them from time to time when you have extra cash is a pretty solid plan. They level you up quick and get you on the road in no time. As for constant cash flow, this is my favorite part of the game. You can join any guild you want and the rewards DO get bigger the higher you go, but that can be a pretty tight budget for exploring, buying potions/spells, enchanting stuff, etc. My fool-proof plan to get money fast is outright theft. Joining the Thieves Guild has the added bonus of someone who will take care of a fine, for half price, no questions asked. Steal any and everything you can get your hands on and sell it to local traders. It's not glamorous but it pays the bills. Good luck and happy exploring. Guest
Balmora isn't the only place with nice guard towers. Suran has a nice one too. And if you look in the storage room of the Caldera Mages Guild, you might just find a Master's Alchemy set at the top of the stairs.
EchoFlame
i just started by running around and killing everything that attacked me, and jumping alot, jumping is good. about thaqt axe guy, i think i had the same problem did the cave have a hanging bridge over a little water and some nixhounds(ambiguous much), i believe its an orcish axe, and will sell very well if you can get it, i think i solved it by using alotof health items and a longsword and reloads
cactoblasta
I think thats the cave with the beluelle bowl/plate (can't remember which). The guy's so tough because there's a decent reward for completing the quest involving that bowl.
