ill buy a PS3 if the price is right. im not going to make my decision based on the first hearing of it. but if its under $400, itll be in concideration for me. anything over and ill be waiting. ive had a playstation since the beginning. my best friend has a play station (and an xbox and a PC), a lot of my friends have a PS3. in fact the first friend i mentioned is the only one i know who has a gaming PC. so i buy consoles to play with my friends. i play on my PC to play solo games. (or MMOs)

Joy, we're going to spend the rest of this year hearing about how "PC gaming is dying" again in another console fuelled propaganda campaign to try and scare people in to leaving the PC platform. Thankfully because Sony, MS et al have been so slow to get their next generation out PC gaming is absolutely storming at the moment. With the rise of casual gaming, independent studios and eSports consoles are actually becoming less relevant rather than more relevant. Thank god.

Just look at League of Legends. One game that has more users than XBox Live and at 32 million monthly players, it almost has as many monthly players as Xbox live has total subscribers from the past 6 years (40 million). Consoles; you're not what you used to be. And I'm thankful for it.

pfff PC gaming lol do your PC games have integration with twitter and facebook lol i dont think so. this is how great the new PSN with social integration will be

wanna annoy the crap out of you friends with constant status updates. the PS4 is for you, at the touch of the share button you can flood the new PSN network/facebook with EVEN MORE CRAP. just turned on your ps4 SHARE just died on the first level SHARE just killed something SHARE gonna afk SHARE going to the bethroom SHARE put a scope on a weapon SHARE, hell just SHARE that you SHARED
welcome to the PS4 the future of gaming #YOLO

not being an elitist but the ONLY thing sony bought to the table that wasnt already known was built in facebook and Twitter. thats it. the PC like hardware was already known, most games were multi-platform. sony really bought nothing new to the table.

and social features isnt gonna make anything better just worse. you know those friend who post everything they do in life on facebook. welcome to the new PSN where the feed will be filled with crap but gaming related crap. "omg this guy just kill me hacks"

at this point im looking at who has the better controller because thats what i will buy. the dualshock 4 looks good but the touch-pad is nothing but a gimmick. a useless feature. im hoping the 720 controller has a 3 to 4 inch touchscreen on it, like a smaller wiiu controller.

I'm glad they didn't really bring anything new to the table, most people just want to sit down and play games, they don't want gimmicks or other crap. If Sony stick to proper gaming then they won't go wrong, the casual crowd don't spend money and chasing them would also put Sony in direct competition with Google and Apple, they'll be eaten alive.

well regardless, im exceited for the PS4. as i said, ive has a PS since the beginning. the only thing i want to know it price. $400 it my limit.

as far as controller goes, welll my history with PS makes that simple. its the only one i like. i dont like the 360 controller, and i dont want an LCD or anything on it. a touchpad is already more then i want, but as long as i dont get an oversized controller im fine....on top of that, i see these touchscreen controller breaking as often as every Iphone i see with a crack in it. might not do anything to functionality, but still sucks.

There is more news that the ps4 won't stop used games and on top of that possible ps3 emulation, and with the horse power that console has it can do it i bet with ease.

its also posted on the other thread, just linking it here if you haven't seen it

It won't be able to emulate the PS3 which means they would have to put a Cell in there, that's an expense they don't need. They bought a company that does streaming games online, that's how they'll do it if they do it at all.

No the ps3 originally had ps2 emulation, its a matter of coding. Also the 360 has xbox emulation, back when i had a 360 for the short time when it worked, :teehee:

the 60gb had the chip built but the 80gb had straight emulation, it worked but very slowly, because of the limited horse power it had, it couldn't handle the emulation.

wih proper tweaking it could of worked, but they removed it after the 120gb slim.

no gimmicks? touch-pad, social features, MOVE and something no one is talking about PS4 has a kinect clone. PlayStation EYE has been remade to work just like a kinect
