zebrin
ok. lets begin.I am trying to get a mod to work on fallout 3. It is a texture mod that has a .esp. the problem that I have been getting is that for some reason, whenever I check the mod, it does not STAY checked. (I check the mod, hit the ok button, then when I click on the data files again, it is again, unchecked.) I followed the directions in the readme, including the Fallout.ini (bInvalidateOlderFiles=1) change. (And have made sure that the change remained in effect in the proper place.)I am currently running windows vista home edition. in advance I thank you for the help. erbkaiser
That is an unfortunate bug in the Fallout 3 launcher. You will have to use the Fallout 3 Mod Manager (on this site under tools) to enable it. Hopefully a future patch will fix this.
zebrin
Ahh, thank you. I will find that and set myself up for some good fun modding.(edit) Apparently the author of said file has blocked it from viewing...(/edit)

aybabtu78
I have a similar problem (well, thats what I think).I put the .esp and the textures and meshes folders in the fallout 3 data folder, but when I start the fallout launcher, in data files, it doesn't let me check the .esp, it doesn't even show me a checkbox on the left side of the .esp.I've done the bInvalidateOlderFiles=1 change in the .ini file and still no luck. It's the only problem I have. I've played the game for hours without any glitch or crash, but this problem with the mods is killing me.Is there any way I can fix this to load mods like oblivion or I must download this mentioned mod manager too? Thanks in advance... aybabtu78
Thanks but didn't work, I can see the .esp but still no checkbox, the strangest thing is that if I remove all the .esp I tried to install, I can see a checkbox on the left of fallout3.esm. aybabtu78
Ok, this is strange, in the fallout launcher y selected options, to tweak some video settings, and after that, I can see the checkboxs on the .esp. If I exit, the checkbox disappears, and I have to enter and exit options to see them again. So, half of the problem is kind of "solved".But now, I'm having the same problem as Zebrin, the .esp doesn't stay checked.I'll give up for now or maybe I'll try the mod manager. Thanks again, and sorry Zebrin for hijacking your thread.
