Yep I use LOOT very often, I honestly don't think this is a mod conflict issue... could be the game engine not being able to handle the memory.

I've found that when outdoors for long periods of time, it pays to periodically save and reload that save.

 

I can't say authoritatively, but I think that between the various nature scripts, weather and other resources, the game just gets overwhelmed.

 

Saving and then loading the save seems to purge the accumulating "clutter".

So I decided to just stand outside for like 10 minutes without moving around, and I get CTD. Indoors is fine, however long it is for. What can I remove from my modlist to help bring down the resource consumption?

 

I really need some help here, it's been so many years and after all this I actually get my list to work, but I still can't get past this limited play time. Any suggestions would be very appreciated.

This is really a HUGE load order. This could simply be a case of "too many mods to handle". Interiors are much lighter on the system than outdoor areas. Just a limited space to render, no weather, no fancy animals...

 

If you're trying to make such a monster of a load order work, it's mandatory to add mods one by one or in small groups and then test, test, test... I know, hardly anybody does... Once you have a load order like yours and you run into trouble, probably the best way is to uninstall mods in small groups (5-10 mods at a time) and test. If the game is stable, you can review the mods you disabled before and research which one is the culprit. In your case, maybe even the 50% approach would be a thing: Uninstall half of your load order (ofc in a sensible way without breaking dependencies etc.) and test. If the game still crashes, uninstall half your mods again. Continue until the game runs stable. Then rebuild your load order step by step.

 

If you want to go the "uninstall only some mods" route, you need a start... I'd say, weapon and armor mods, generic followers or simple player homes are very likely not the cause of your problems. So you can exclude a lot of your mods from the first test series. I'd start with scripted mods and especially mods that have a large impact on gameplay: Crafting and perk overhauls, combat overhauls, large quest mods... Also mods adding NPCs or creatures can cause problems. Music and sound mods also can sometimes crash your game. I'd start with disabling this kind of mods and testing... Also test on a new game. If you remove mods and load an older save game, the game might crash simply because of missing mods. You wouldn't get reliable results about mod issues this way.

Alright so I had to let go Bellyaches New Dragon Species, still no chop... then removed some scripted stuff like Caranthir Tower. Now, I removed Phendrix Magic World (replaced with Apocalypse because hey, I'm not letting go of some spells, they are way too cool), RIEF Polar Bears - apparently this adds like 80+ bears which is an insane amount. I then made a few extra patches over the bashed patch since although bash does a decent job, it still misses the small details of things like names, descriptions, and leveled item lists. Hopefully this will ease the burden a little bit, will update.

 

I seriously don't want to remove Thunderchild, but it seems to have a lot of scripts... Anybody know if it is light?

Ok so it turns out that even vanilla would crash with nothing on it, I even reinstalled everything, and it continues to crash during the intro sequence... just after moving in the carriage for a small distance. Any ideas on how to go about this?

Did you try a complete reinstall? Just disabling or uninstalling mods and having Steam verify game cache won't help, if there's e.g. leftover data from previously installed mods.

 

A "real" reinstall means: Delete the whole Skyrim SE folder and also the .ini files found in .../documents/my games/Skyrim SE. Then reinstall via Steam.

 

Speaking of .ini files: Wrong .ini settings can also make the game crash. You can either delete your .ini files and let the game create new ones with standard settings or use BethINI and one of its preset profiles.

 

If you still crash on a fresh and clean install, there's probably more going on than just a problem with Skyrim itself. Next step would probably be to check/update your drivers.

Turns out it was Bethini, reformatted the entire drive to find the crash persisting and ended up deleting Skyrim SE from my documents. That finally did the fix.

Time to reinstall 1000 mods again hahaha.....
