apieperson
So yesterday I installed a fresh copy of Fallout 3, updated to 1.7, complete with FOSE, a few mods, etc. All was going well until I attempted to wait for a few hours in Megaton. During the waiting process, my cursor would stutter, as if for a few seconds at a time, the game would stop responding. After it finished waiting, the game tried autosaving, then crashed. I tried waiting again, and every time, without fail, the game crashes. Next, I tried disabling autosaves. That didn't work either. After that, I ran BOSS and Check for Conflicts in FOMM, just in case. A few things were moved around, but it still crashed, both when trying to sleep and when waiting. Next, I tried disabling all my mods/dlc, to no avail. Running the base game (AKA not fose_loader.exe) also did not fix the problem. I have a quad-core AMD Phenom II X4 955, 8gb of RAM, Radeon 6870 HD 1gb VRAM running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. I already tried the FALLOUT.ini fix. It, too, did not rectify the problem. Any helpful insight as to why the game might be crashing would be greatly appreciated. EDIT: I have tried in multiple different cells, so its not a problem with the Megaton area. Forgot to mention that. Edited February 24, 2013 by apieperson

apieperson
No need, I started a new game and the problem went away. Never seen a save corrupt like that, though. Odd.
