Gomorrah Error (Interior)

Recommended Posts

I simply can't pinpoint what could make this happen.

I was trying to get white wash quest done, but as soon as I enter the casino, the game suddenly sluggish (Slo-mo), also it just freeze when I try to get out to the Strip.

I have xNVSE, NVTF, GECK-E, Heap Replacer, and JIP alongside JG.

I don't see anything obvious. Suggest you take a look at your configuration settings for NVTF and Heap Replacer, comparing them to comments on those mod pages.

Entering/leaving an interior cell causes the game to have to completely reload the graphics buffer, discarding everything previously loaded. The slow down sounds like your graphics pipeline has become momentarily saturated. If you are using an "on-board graphics chip" (such as those builtin to a laptop), these have to use part of the system RAM for video processing and might cause the "freeze" upon exiting the interior too quickly if you are already pushing the 4GB limit of the game space.

A test you might try is lowering your graphics resolution just before entering that interior and see if it makes any difference. If so, it would tend to confirm that hypothesis.

Please see the following entries under the 'Solutions to Performance problems' section in the wiki Fallout NV Mod Conflict Troubleshooting" guide if you haven't already.
* 'Issue: "Full screen mode" exhibits CTDs and stutters or micro-stutters'
* 'Issue: Lag or "micro stutters" even with "New Vegas Stutter Remover" installed' (may also apply to NVTF)
* 'Issue: Win10 Screen tearing in "Borderless Windowed Mode"'
* 'Issue: CTD without warning, "Out of Memory error", or stops responding after the Main Menu' for other settings that can indirectly affect micro-stutter.
* If you have "NVSE logging" enabled (see the 'Checklist Item #4' entry in the wiki "Fallout NV Mod Conflict Troubleshooting" guide), disable it until actually needed.
(Reading from or writing to disk for any reason is the slowest thing the game does. If you "save game" upon entering or exiting a building/cell that might be related.)

The size of your image files also has an impact. Larger/higher resolution is not always "better". Please see the wiki "Display resolution versus Image Size" article.

The 'Issue: What INI edits seem to be most beneficial to performance' entry of the wiki "Fallout NV Mod Conflict Troubleshooting" guide) may also be some help. However, the above mitigations are more likely to have a fundamental beneficial effect with or without any INI adjustments, so consider them as the last resort.

As you can see, there are a number of things that can underlie your problem. If one of these doesn't fix it, I would be interested to hear about any eventual solution that does.

Try these steps:

1. Disable New Vegas Tick Fix and Heap replacer.

2. install New Vegas Stutter Remover: https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/34832/

3. And please, for the love of [insert favorite Nuka Cola here], install FNV Mod Limit Fix: https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/68714

Take a look at this description of the mod limit fix mod:

"This plugin fixes the Fallout New Vegas mod limit bug. It allows a maximum of 255 plugins to be loaded. It can also cause an increase in fps, remove game stutter and allow for faster loading times especially when using a large number of mods."

This mod is practically a godsend - really helped my Fallout 3 stop being crazy and it may significantly solve many problems with your NV install.

4. Install New Vegas Anti-Crash: https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/53635/

5. Install 4gb patch: https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/62552/

Come back and tell me how it goes after you've done all of these steps. As an extra step, be sure to toggle archive invalidation off and back on again.

NVSR is outdated and NVTF is the successor of NVSR.

If using NVSR with Win10 the following line needs to be changed in the sr_New_Vegas_Stutter_Remover.ini to be:
bHookLightCriticalSections = 0

Got some info from one of Dubious's posts, he said this:

":* Currently, the recommended alternative to NVSR, if you are running Win7 or Win10, is to try using the "New Vegas Tick Fix (NVTF)" and "New Vegas Heap Replacer (NVHR)" mods instead. However, until NVTF includes the option, you may want to continue to use NVSR for the "iThreadsFixedToCPUs" setting. Note though, use of NVSR along with NVTF is unsupported."

I may have gotten some bad info about heap replacement, but still I use the steps I listed above and never deal with CTD's on my New Vegas install.

Yeah, I personally think it's a low percentage move especially considering that iThreadsFixedToCPUs is classified as 'experimental'.

I'm not saying don't try it but it's not high on the list of potential fixes.

I collect and record various solutions others have reported success with. Different setups will have different results with various solutions, so I list the most likely solutions first. Older solutions have, by nature of their age, a higher percentage or reputation of proven success; just like older mods typically have a higher endorsement rate than newer (possibly better) alternatives.

For some people, even a low percentage chance is better than none at all. If you don't know about a possible solution, you have a close to zero chance of finding a functional alternative.

So, to summarize it, I apparently put JSawyer before UPP before until recently i changed it. Before that, I managed to proceed to Gomorrah without any problem, after I reduce the number of followers I had down to 2 (due to CC&C) and get out without problem. I'm shocked by the time I get out of Gomorrah, I'm "getting" 1200 Legion Recruit Armor in my inventory for no explainable reasons.

Changes in "load order" (LO) can have a significant impact and cause conflicts. The unexplained "1200 Legion Recruit Armor" sounds like such a conflict (though not one I've heard of before). Did you rebuild your "bashed patch" after you changed your "load order" (which is necessary any time the LO changes because it is based upon the "mod index" of each plugin)?
