Requiem - Vigilant Tyranus is the Dragonborn

So, at least in Requiem 3.0.2, Vigilant Tyranus can shout and even has a diary that describes how he interacts with his inate power of the voice.
For him it is an inate power wich origin and meaning he has no clue off, so he thinks it is a sinful and foul thing that he is ashamed and tries to repress and deny.
All of this is already in Requiem.

My request is for a mod that you can somehow not have to kill him in the Molag Bal house and after it he becomes "your follower", but actually you are following him.

He is the defacto Dragonborn.

The mod idea is that Tyranus follows you around and he is the one who gets the shouts from walls and stuff and takes the dragon souls.

Can it be done?

Now why would you EVER wanna do this, or want to have this done?.. since it goes WAY out of the Immersion of the Game... besides this, it may even break the main quest.. im pretty sure it would cause a CTD if this was done...

It's his game - he can play it how he wants and mod it how he wants.

since it goes WAY out of the Immersion of the Game

So? Immersion is entirely subjective and some people don't care about immersion as much as others.

besides this, it may even break the main quest..

You can mod Skyrim so that the main quest is irrelevant or optional.

im pretty sure it would cause a CTD if this was done...

Why are you pretty sure...?

EDIT: I think it's a great idea.

Never realized that, forget that I said something... (im not into modding so far that a game becomes something different than the original... ) MY BAD

So I did some testings and Vigilant Tyranus has dialogue if he survives the quest!

I used setstage to advance the quest and was a whole deal to get him to chill out that I'm not entirely sure how I did it because I couldn't replicate it. Anyways, he chills at the Silver Bloof Inn.

As far as the mod goes, I'm having some ideas:

1- In order to save Tyranus you must have an amulet of Stendarr, lower his health enough so he yields to you (this happens in Requiem if you haven't checked the option "fearless and steadfast enemies") and sheath your weapon or magic after that. Thus granting the yield.

2- Stendarr himself apears in ghost form (maybe a golden one?) and possesses Tyranus who now with the glow of Stendarr's manifestation walks twards the door to Markarth and unlocks it.

3- When the PC aproaches the door, possessed Tyranus says; "This house of foul domination shall not be used for the Daedra's bidding again. For that, you must eliminate the last daedra worshiper with nowledge of that unholly altar, he is being held prisioner at...".

4- Tyranus is available as a follower from this point on and you can kill Logrolf or betray Stendarr if you wish.

5- If you do not betray Stendarr and have taken Tyranus as a follower, he continues to follow you but now he is the one who will absorve dragon souls... or do that also. Double Dragonborns? huh?!

lol

Good work. So this wouldn't have to be Requiem-exclusive - any of the NPC yield mods would work.

Double DragonBorns would necessitate having a pop-up message whenever you

a. kill a dragon or approach a word wall; and

b. have Tyranus as a companion

so you can select who absorbs the dragon soul or learns the shout.

Also, what if he shouts in combat and you're in the way.....?

wow, real pro with the pop-up solution. I think it is a good solution.

About shouts and friendly-fire... yeah I don't think you can label followers or PCs as imune to arrows, spells or hits from friends.

But hey, even if it makes the gameplay chaotic, it could be some interesting play sessions I can tell you that much.

In other forums people are saying that it would be very taxing to mod Tyranus to get shouts.

I remember there was a mod called "You are not the Dragonborn" a good while back...

maybe some of the work has been done?

Yeah possibly. There are quite a few options as to how you could do it but I like the thought of the player not being the DragonBorn at all and Tyranus (Rex?) is used at the critical points in the questline.

Kind of like how the main quest in Oblivion was designed where Martin is the ultimate hero of the story but the player does most of the consequential stuff.
