ZeroKing
Harper always made empty promises about improving the job market (but then, what politician doesn't?).... especially in Ontario (where I'm from), but so far it was all done well thanks to the Liberal Party in the provincial sector. As well, he made that dumb gamble some time ago to purchase those fighter jets..... without the consent of the cabinet ministers. He just slapped the bill onto us Canadians, and told the gov't at the last minute about it. I don't see him as a successful PM, he was just a good orator..... and that's how he won twice in a row during elections. But he didn't have much of a plan, I personally thought that NDP was better, at least in my opinion Jack Layton had a plan.
Thor.
I thought that deal was still on debate after The USA grounded the f 35's for repair do to a blade inside the jet engine-malfunction, although looks like Boeing is pushing for a change in decision maybe, Still a waste of tax payers money though in my opinion, ???? Especially the huge debt we already have. The super Hornet, but what are they trying to defend us from is the question?? http://www.cbc.ca/player/Shows/Shows/The+National/Canada/ID/2339344612/ Edited March 1, 2013 by Thor. Tidus44
The F-35 Lightning II program was never about what was best for Canada's military. It was about (initially anyway) having a common air frame between countries that were sharing resources and reducing costs for the aircraft. The countries being United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and The Netherlands. The aircraft (might) meet US military needs, but even that is debatable and with the current cost cutting being implemented in the US, with the military taking a big hit, one wonders if the program is as viable as some seem to think it is. Anyway, Harper is a nobody who thinks he holds a place on the world's stage and wants to be like the US President so bad I think he wets himself whenever he is near Obama. The US was hit with a recession that, other than Ontario and Quebec, wasn't even felt in most of Canada, and especially not out west. Harper is following along with the F-35 because it means jobs in the US and he can show Canada is "friends" with the US. Take a look at his party platform and what he promised. What has he accomplished? Pretty much nothing and what has been accomplished has happened in spite of what Harper has implemented. The country is in pretty good shape because of a lot of things, but not because of anything Harper or his party have done. Under the Liberals the countries debt was being paid off. Since Harper has been in power every cent that the Liberals paid down on the debt has been wasted and we are now deeper in debt than ever. Look at the scandal in the Senate and even in the House. Harper couldn't direct traffic down a one way street if it was a parade. I am actually shocked though, that someone in Ontario actually considered the NDP in a federal election. Isn't that a crime punishable by death or at least banishment in Ontario?
Dazaster
Which one?http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Premier_%28Canada%29Seems to be a few of them. And I have no clue as to who any of them are.But then I don't know many British politicians either. Other than Boris Johnson. BORIS FOR WORLD PRESIDENT!!! I stayed at a Premier Inn once. Not the best. But a long way from the worst. Probably the same as your Premier then
