Turned 9 years old today. From Castle Volkihar to Dayspring Canyon. WooHoo!

When Ysgramor first sighted the Straits of Windhelm in his historic voyage from Atmora, he looked out the window of his ship of uttered the famous words, "This looks good enough, let's hope it just works".

This could be made even more special with some word that The Elder Scrolls 6: Somewhere in Iliac Bay will be released as a single player game with a public creation kit and not requiring a subscription.

This could be made even more special with some word that The Elder Scrolls 6: Somewhere in Iliac Bay will be released as a quality assurance tested single player role-playing game, with a complex, dynamic game world, compelling storyline including side quests that aren't dull , a public creation kit and not requiring a subscription.

A few minor adjustments......

I hope TES VI become ESO II with subscription and/or loot boxes.

Are you trolling?

They can implement a platform with minimal modding in a multiplayer game, and release the armors and followers in payable packs (modders would receive a part of the profits). Those who dont buy these packs could still see the new armors in the game, but would not be able to use them.

As for combat mods, they can take ideas from combat mods for Skyrim and implement them in the MMO. Or they can make a competition among modders, who could use test servers for their own combat mods.

Player homes are already implemented in ESO. Anyone can decorate their homes. So no need to change anything in this area.

There is no need for a single player game anymore, and much less for a SDK, which is barely used and is even demonized by some players. Armors and followers can be implemented through a text file, like in old Total War games. And this can be monetized with microtransactions, so no need for a subscription.

So that's a 'yes', you are trolling.

In Oblivion I visited several places outside of Cyrodiil. I visited Skyrim, Hammerfell, Elsweyr, Valenwood, etc.

In Skyrim, I cant visit none of those places, except Skyrim. After nine years, there is not a single functional province to travel to.

What do this tells me? It tells, loud and clear: SDK not needed.

The corporations are right: there should be no mod tools, and additional content for new games should be monetized.

Mod tools to make cabbage farms, and call it "content"? Give me a break.

But if you want to think this is "trolling", to feel comfortable, then so be it.

So? That's your argument for why SDK is not needed?! All you're doing is pointing out that Bethesda under-utilises its IP. In fact, one could make a pretty compellingly argument that the modding community has done far more for Bethesda's IP than Bethesda has.

And presumably you were able to visit those provinces because modders made them using a SDK? <facepalm>

If the only way to attempt to prove your point is to use an asinine, absurd, reductionist example, then you've got nothing.

This comment is so 'general' in nature it is essentially meaningless. What are 'the corporations'? It's like a term that conspiracy theorists use when trying to explain who the conspirators are... 'they'.

But if you want to think this is "trolling", to feel comfortable, then so be it.

No, it's not that I want to feel comfortable, it's just difficult to understand how someone can make such poorly thought through, reductionist statements and not be trolling, especially when you consider that this is a site dedicated to modding.

Yes. They were made using a SDK.

However, times change, people change, communities change. And the severe lack of content in Skyrim shows there is no need for a SDK in TES VI.

In nine years, there is not a single province to go in Skyrim, except the one from the vanilla game. It could have been made with the SDK, but we dont have it. This means the community have changed, and so there is no need for a SDK for new games. The only thing being made are armors and followers, and these can be registered with text files, like it used to be in Total War games.

The rest of your comments I'm not going to address, as you are making personal attacks. Your arrogance was expected, though, as many mod authors think they are special, after making their first cabbage farm. Hence the lack of content we see today.
