weltall
I will be as simple as possible with my question. What is better? A stronger graphics card with less vram or a weaker graphics card with more vram? I have currently an HD4870 512MB and a friend is willing to trade me his HD6670 1GB. I have been playing Skyrim modded with quite a handful of mods including Skyrim HD Lite and other graphic altering mods and the games runs in an acceptable (for me) pace. But I was wondering, since everyone keeps mentioning the VRAM, if its more important. The game runs windowed at 1680x1050.

weltall
Thank you so much aLxv1. Now this is a nice site to know about :D I guess I will stick to my old GPU and enjoy Skyrim as it is. Thanks again for the fast reply!
Naturlich68
Good question really (so I'll read the link shortly), I have crossfire 4870's, before I got the second card I was playing Skyrim with max textures at 1680x1050 with good settings on the other sliders and it ran smooth as anything, it's only since using mods that issues have really started to plague the game, and actually not mods designed to enhance textures and stuff like that, just addon mods, but they have killed the playability of Skyrim so much that I've really had to dig into max tweaking of the drivers through Ati tray Tools (so it seems like I've got it playable again :) Crossfire though is a total nightmare and whole other issue! So thanks for posting
